This involves the development and management of needs-based solutions covering foreign exchange, deposit, investment, insurance and financing products, as well as the provision of suitable market insights and updates, financial planning and advisory services. We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a VP, Investment Specialist Team Head. Principal Responsibilities

  • Lead the investment specialist team to strengthen HSBC’s image as a leading wealth provider by providing clients with access to advanced investment product expertise
  • Ensure specialist support to relationship managers, to gain more clients’ confidence and trust in HSBC capabilities and increase the effectiveness and quality of needs fulfilled for target clients in need
  • Lead the investment specialist team to conduct the joint activities with relationship managers, ensure the quality of investment advice to both relationship managers and clients, and improve their financial literacy and knowledge of financial markets and solutions
  • Continue to develop and sharpen the specialist team’s technical expertise, working closely with the Wealth Development team and product manufacturers to help improve client satisfaction and outcome, provide feedback to product teams in order to continuously improve our products and services
  • Work with Head of Wealth Sales to provide front line perspective and input to Country Customer Value Management, Wealth Development team, product manufacturers on the planning and development of products, associated processes, and tools where relevant, assist in the launch of complex products where appropriate
  • Collect and apply market and channel intelligence to identify and share competitive gaps, service issues, business opportunities, and challenges with stakeholders
  • Ensure all processes and procedures are accurate and in accordance with the policy standards and regulatory requirements
  • Continuously reassessing risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology

  • Possess working experience as an investment specialist or financial advisor with management experience in similar field
  • Demonstrates ability to set stretch goals for self and the team with the ability to deliver these with courage and tenacity
  • Ability to transfer skills and knowledge by demonstration, coaching and observation
  • Deep knowledge of specific complex financial solutions and products including the knowledge of financial markets, socio economic dynamics, and regulatory requirement relevant to the products
  • Extensive external market awareness of market conditions, new product solutions, and an understanding of current financial market activities
  • Ability and experience to correctly identify client needs with solid skills to manage consultative financial objective process
  • Good understanding of global anti money laundering standards
  • Knowledge of local and Group compliance regulations
  • Specialization in investment product categories e.g. structured products, funds, bonds and equities
  • Possess a University Degree

Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role.
