Within Nomura\'s Group Technology Office (GTO) organization, Compliance and Core Corporate Technology team supports various corporate divisions including Legal & Compliance (LCC), Human Resources (HR), Internal Audit (IA), Corporate Real Estate Services (CRES) & Security.
While the coverage of role is wider to cover all Core Corporate Technology functions, Compliance will be main focus for this role. Reporting to the Global Head of Compliance Technology and Asia pacific Head of Core Corporate Technology, this role holder will be responsible for end to end management of technology needs for regional corporate partners.
Responsibilities:
- Manage mid-to-large size regional and global projects primarily in regulatory Compliance domain including Financial Crime - Anti Money Laundering (AML) monitoring, Trade and Communications Surveillance, regulatory reporting etc.
- Work along with support teams and act as an escalation contact to deliver stable and functional systems in region
- Partner with regional stakeholders to define and execute regional functional technology strategy and keep them abreast of global developments
- Mentor and guide junior team members and vendors in the team for Business Analysis as well as technical design of the systems
- Manage a small team of permanent staffs in region, delivery team at offshore location and several vendor staff in global locations
- Financial planning for Regional Core Corporate technology team including annual budget preparation and tracking, vendor contract management etc.
- Represent region in various global working groups and forums
- Collaborate with control functions like Internal and external Auditors
- Ensure ongoing adherence to various Nomura IT Risk and Control, Governance and Information Management standards
Requirements
- Experience in Compliance functions like Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Trade and Communications Surveillance, Insider Information Management systems will be a must
- 5 years of IT project management experience in a financial institution
- Must have experience in processing and analysing large data sets for business analysis purpose and technology system design and architecture. Exposure to emerging technologies like public and private Cloud
- Proven skills to manage a team of vendors spread in global locations and different time zones
- Prior experience working in a global team and matrix reporting organization will be preferred
- Ability to independently establish and manage relations with senior stakeholders in the organization
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or finance-related
- Total 10 years of experience working in Financial industry, preferable Compliance domain
