We generate sustainable, superior returns through active investments across global equity markets. Strategies include relative return strategies, absolute return strategies, and quantitative strategies.

Investment Insights Group

We use advanced quantitative techniques and cutting-edge technological tools to generate insights that drive outstanding investment outcomes for GIC.

Quantitative Research
As a quantitative researcher, you will sit in each asset department to harness advanced data analytics for investment decisions. We also have a team of quantitative researchers sitting in the central Investment Insights Group hub to work on cross-asset projects.

You will be part of a team that uses advanced quantitative methods, alternative data, and technology to generate superior investment performance.

What will you do as an VP, Strat (Public Equities), Investment Insights Group?

  • Develop products and strategies to augment the fundamental investment process by
  • Transforming best-in-class datasets into quantamental-based investment strategies and insights
  • Generating company and industry level insights to augment company research deep dives
  • Identifying and tracking portfolio performance drivers
  • Optimising portfolio construction, risk controls, and mandate-specific constraints to construct ideal portfolios
  • Utilising quantitative methods, Machine Learning and LLMs to deepen contextual augmentation in the methods above
  • Drive engagement and adoption of these tools within Equities\xe2\x80\x99 investing teams
  • Take leadership in bridging technical and investment domains, translating ideas and discussions into implementable ideas.
  • Partnering with technologists on implementation
  • Engage with external counterparties (brokers, buy-side peers and third party providers) to landscape and learn about new datasets and innovations
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
  • A Master\xe2\x80\x99s/Ph.D. degree in Engineering/Applied Mathematics/Computer Science related subjects
  • At least 3-4 years of quantitative equities research experience, and looking to transition to fields closer to fundamental equities research (company and industry level insights)
  • Experience in portfolio management or portfolio risk and performance analysis, understanding how alpha is generated along the fundamental investment process
  • Knowledge of data science techniques, including demonstrated ability in developing with LLMs
  • Able to build a backtesting framework for different portfolios/strategies, and appreciate the nuances of insights gleaned from such backtests (e.g. overfitting, and testing for it)
  • Highly creative \xe2\x80\x93 to be able to ideate solutions and strategies
  • Logical and practical \xe2\x80\x93 strong interest in solving complex problems, and deconstructing them into principles
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills, particularly in explaining technical concepts to a broad audience
