About the Department


Group Technology and Operations (GTO) provides software and system development, information technology support services and banking operations. We have centralized and standardized the technology components into Singapore, creating a global footprint which can be utilized for supporting our regional subsidiaries and the branches around the world. We operate and support 19 countries with this architecture to provide a secure and flexible banking infrastructure. Our Operations divisions provide transactional customer services for our businesses while also focusing on cost efficiency through process improvements, automation and straight through processing.

Job Responsibilities


Group Markets and Enterprise Technology (GMET) Trade provides IT application services for the Bank. We leverage on best practices in business solutions delivery, design and development to meet the Bank’s vision and business objectives. Our strategy is primarily driven by the long term and short term business strategies and objectives of the Bank. Our strategic focus is to align IT with the Business, create flexibility and capacity in IT infrastructure, and consolidate for scale, time to market, and risk management.
Key objectives:
The Systems Analyst works with stakeholders from all business units and related third parties to define and document business processes and software requirements for technology initiatives. The person would be responsible to drive the Industry Programs for Trade and Supplier Financing for the organization, be engaged on key decisions around applications strategy and roadmap. The role would be engaged closely with business and operations team and Industry stakeholders (ABS/Customs) to implement various compliance and product initiatives in Industry
Key responsibilities:

  • Elicit requirement, prioritise and analyse requests, design business processes, workflows and user interfaces, produce/review of functional specifications and data mapping templates.

  • Work closely on functional needs driving applications strategy with development / Architecture teams

  • Works closely with Project Manager and Cross teams for functional solution

  • Ensure all application documentation is properly updated with signoff.

  • Work with development team on the smooth delivery of the solution.

  • Maintains system protocols by writing and updating procedures.

  • Prepare/Review/Perform test cases/scripts to ensure the business requirements are fulfilled.

  • Support SIT/UAT testing. Help plan and support the user acceptance testing and help address any issues.

  • Facilitates/Provides “Train-the-Trainer” on application enhancements.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Be the point person from the team to lead the industry discussions

  • Be the point person for UOB Internal application (TSU) to ensure right requirements and built and delivered as per the stipulated processes

Job Requirements



  • Bachelor Degree in related field or equivalent experience

  • 12-15 years of relevant business analysis and/or project management experience; Good knowledge of Transaction Banking domain and understanding of Trade/Supplier financing required. Person should have proven expertise building platforms supporting these domains

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Good team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong working knowledge of relevant applications and development life cycles.
