Group Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank\'s operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.

Job Purpose

As part of the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s digital transformation strategy, we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for a senior Technical Lead to partner our Treasury & Markets (T&M) technology and business stakeholders in driving our e-FX (Foreign Exchange) digital strategy \xe2\x80\x93 namely, to:

• Digitalise channels for customer fulfilment of FX and other T&M products
• Connect T&M products & services to ecosystems through APIs
• Provide the FX trading desk with real-time, low latency position and risk monitoring
• Drive business decisions through data-driven insights
• Enable Microservice Architectures, Agile, DevSecOps, Cloud and APIs

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure the quality delivery of software enhancements and projects related to the T&M e-FX trading and Digital Channels platforms
• Work with business stakeholders in defining the FX digital strategy and roadmap
• Provide leadership in re-defining our development team processes, as well as recommending technologies fit for modern, scalable architectures to deliver business outcomes and customer value
• Play a key role in defining the architecture and engineering guidelines for the development team, and driving engineering practices based on these guidelines
• Evaluate and implement technologies fit for modern, low-latency, scalable, distributed architectures

Responsibilities

• To drive continuous improvement, innovation and learning; provide guidance to different teams to drive towards fit-for-purpose application design \xe2\x80\x93 introduce new tools and technology (stacks, frameworks, languages) while driving consistency as appropriate
• Provide technical vision, strategy, and execute the long-term architectural direction, with emphasis on platforms/ Product reusable components
• Identify and evaluate alternative design options and trade-offs to handle both functional and non-functional requirements. Recommend designs that consider current applications & architecture, operating models as well as end target state architecture
• Responsible for end to end architecture, high- & low-level designs of various systems and applications in line with Singapore & regional strategy. Lead the preparation of detailed design specifications to form the basis for development & modification of applications. Define integration patterns
• Support change programs/ project through technical plans & application of design principles that comply with enterprise and solution architecture standards
• Ensure that Extensions and additions to the defined architecture are undertaken frequently in line with every evolving business and technology landscape but go through rigorous vetting processes.
• Lead and influence development teams for efficient technical builds, be an agent of change to introduce innovative technologies within team/organization
• Acquire knowledge and understanding of DBS technology strategy as well as T&M digitization program and lead the team to model best practices.
• Embraced and strengthened the start-up ecosystem, drove innovation in technical area of expertise
• Actively collaborate and spearhead initiatives with the Cloud Engineering Platform and EASRE (Enterprise Architecture and System Reliability Engineering)
• Continuously improve and evolve comprehensive DevOps practices including Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deployment, Release Automation, Blue & Green/ Canary deployments, appropriate application telemetry and observability
• Be a consumer and contributor to enterprise architecture collateral. The patterns and guidance developed should be reusable in a broader enterprise architecture context. Deliver solutions for large and complex technical projects
• Design and articulate technical solutions to business stakeholders, while considering all functional as well as non-functional requirements (e.g. performance, availability, consistency, scalability, security). Transform requirements into architecture and blueprint for the solution being created.
• Understand the system processes and data flows of FX trading and other T&M trading products; provide a clear picture of pricing and booking flows across trading, sales and digital channels. Become the subject matter expert in designing low latency eFX trading microservices applications
• Understand the regulatory environment in which the Bank and T&M operates (e.g. MAS TRM, MiFID II, personal data protection, IT security)
• Understand the emerging markets in payments and micropayments, and FX\xe2\x80\x99s role in cross-border payments
• Communicate effectively and succinctly with business users, technical teams, application vendors and business analysts
• Communicate, manage and mitigate system issues and risks
• Explore new technologies and drive innovation through experimentation
• Contribute both internally and external IT community​ as an expert in the domain

Requirements

• At least a Degree in Computing / Computer Science / Engineering from a reputed University
• Minimum 8 years experience in IT and software development, with a good track record in a leadership role
• Experience in design Cloud native, Event based and Microservice Architecture; working experience in a cloud native work environment, spring cloud data, Spring Security, oAuth, service monitoring on cloud, PaaS environment such as Kubernetes.
• Deep End-to-End Enterprise Architecture understanding, including Enterprise Java Stack (JEE), Front-End technologies, streaming technology or framework such as Kafka, Databases (SQL & No SQL) and Data Warehouses. Able to select suitable technology for given situation, code quality Api/tool, logging/tracing, circuit breakers.
• Experience with event based and microservice solutions developed in large cloud computing infrastructures such as Amazon Web Services, Azure Cloud, and/or Google Cloud
• Full-stack development background especially in HTML/CSS/Javascript, React/Angular frameworks, Java/J2EE, C/C++, JBoss, MySQL, MariaDB
• Familiarity with modern languages and NoSQL databases such as NodeJS, Golang, Python, Redis, MongoDB
• Hands on working knowledge on DevOps tools for Source Control (Git, Bitbucket), Continuous Integration (Jenkins, Maven), Continuous Delivery (CA Release Automation)
• Understand API architectures; hands on experience with designing and deploying APIs through API gateways and portals, including API documentation using standards such as OpenAPI and RAML
• Working knowledge on Test Driven Development and UI test automation
• Demonstrated track record of leading a development team with a culture of collaboration and teamwork
• Experience working in distributed Agile team setup
• Proven experience of having solved complex analytical and technical problems
• Must be comfortable working in an extremely fast paced environment, with an ability to prioritise accordingly to meet deadlines
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
