Take full responsibility for the operation and performance of the waste incineration plant and the wastewater treatment facility.
Oversee and manage the storage of hazardous substances, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Operate and maintain incinerators and boilers, ensuring efficiency and adherence to environmental and safety guidelines.
Apply strong knowledge of waste characterisation to optimise plant operations and ensure proper handling of diverse waste streams.
Ensure regulatory compliance in managing toxic and hazardous waste, maintaining best practices in safety and environmental protection.
Manage and monitor wastewater treatment processes, ensuring treated effluent meets statutory discharge standards.
Contribute to carbon emissions reduction strategies by applying technical expertise to support sustainability goals.
Conduct routine inspections, maintenance checks, and breakdown troubleshooting on electrical, electronic, and control systems to achieve maximum plant availability.
Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance, including major overhauls, to minimise downtime.
Lead, guide, and supervise plant staff to carry out maintenance and operations safely, efficiently, and effectively.
Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and zero-incident protocols in all plant operations.
Generate and submit weekly reports detailing incinerated waste records and operational status to management.
Undertake special projects and any other duties as assigned to support operational excellence.
Requirements
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
Minimum 15 years of experience in the hazardous waste management industry, with significant exposure to incineration plants, boilers, and wastewater treatment operations.
Proven background in incineration plant operations, including both operation and maintenance of electrical/electronic systems.
Strong knowledge of hazardous waste handling, toxic waste management, and waste characterisation.
Hands-on experience in wastewater treatment plant operations and compliance management.
Familiarity with carbon emission monitoring, reporting, and reduction practices.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, train, and motivate teams.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and report-writing abilities.
Mature, independent, resourceful, and highly self-driven.
* Strong presentation and IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, engineering software, SQL, and other relevant applications.
