International Wealth Advisory is a specialist expert group within the JPMorgan Private Bank.

The Asia Wealth Advisory team works in close partnership with the trust officers from our International Trust Services (ITS) Companies to assist the Bank's valued clients. Wealth Advisors do not provide legal or tax advice nor do they charge advisory fees. Wealth Advisors interface with the client's own independent tax or legal advisors, trustees and relevant service providers to liaise, coordinate and organize documentation in preparation of client meetings.

1. General administration and record-keeping and presentations

  • General administration matters including maintain a record of existing trust structures and support with record keeping and presentation materials for the Wealth Advisory team
  • Prepare presentation and other marketing materials for Wealth Advisors, including presentations in Simplified Chinese characters
  • Collate and obtain document/policies posted to the internal intranet, complete and assist in document preparation for creation of new trusts
  • Regular updates on case load/client matters with Wealth Advisors
  • Assist Wealth Advisors to prepare and maintain their performance metrics
  • Reporting of pipeline and activities in Wealth Advisory for Singapore (including oversight on controls and compliance with existing policies and procedures on the engagement rules with ITS and internal stakeholders and external service providers)
  • Support client and prospect engagement events led by Wealth Advisors with internal and external stakeholders to advance the Wealth Advisory value proposition across the advisor population in the location

2. Coordination and support
  • Coordinate and follow-up with trust companies and corporate secretarial agents on corporate/secretarial documentation i.e. issuance of share certificates, update of minute books and registers of directors and members etc. of offshore companies

3. Partnership with the International Trust Services (ITS) Companies
  • The WA Professional will be responsible to collate, prepare and finalize documentation for the creation of trusts (including the incorporation/takeover of investment holding entities under the trust, banking documentation, etc.) and follow-up with internal stakeholders (bankers, client advisors, Wealth Advisors) as well as client's legal and tax advisors and relevant corporate service providers (where applicable)
  • The WA Professional will be the primary liaison party and coordinator with ITS for creation of new trusts and assist with the internal business requirements (including new business approval memos and review of all relevant documents for client signature (i.e. LOD, Trust Agreement etc.) to follow-through the creation and onboarding documentation in accordance with existing policy and procedures
  • Responsible for the end-to-end process and documentation from initiation to the conclusion of the trust creation independently with minimal supervision
  • Regular check-ins and close discussion with the Wealth Advisors on ongoing trust matters as well as complex and non-standard trust creation
  • Support the respective Wealth Advisors on any restructuring or changes in the existing trust arrangements with the coordination and liaison responsibilities with ITS Fiduciary Officers, client's external legal advisors or accountants, and external service providers where applicable to implement the advice from client's legal or tax advisors
  • Support trust reviews for ITS administered trust structures with clients and works closely with the ITS Fiduciary Officers and Wealth Advisors to follow-up post-trust review
  • Support projects, specific engagements and initiatives in Wealth Advisory and ITS including coordination, assisting with presentations, ongoing tracking and monitoring responsibilities for projects and day-to-day responsibilities

4. Involvement in Trust administration and coordination and Insurance referrals
  • Candidate will be required to have a general working knowledge of trust and company administration matters and procedures
  • They will be required to support Wealth Advisors as well as client advisors (bankers and servicing specialists) with general and ad-hoc questions relating to internal policies and procedures as well as general planning and trust matters
  • Responsible in supporting the advisors (WA, bankers, servicing specialists, analysts) and coordinating with approved insurance brokers on insurance documentation and ensure that internal processes are adhered in accordance with internal policies and framework
  • Arrange client meetings with insurance broker i.e. meetings with prospect and annual reviews, as well as broker training sessions

Requirements:
  • At least a Bachelor Degree in law, tax or accounting or other related discipline
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role in a private bank or trust company, or in a law firm
  • Prior working experience as Paralegal, trust administration, trust officer, trust administrator or accountant will be an added advantage
  • General understanding of wealth planning and advisory matters for individuals and families
  • TEP or seeking for TEP qualification
  • General and broad knowledge of investment and credit products and services
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications; adaptive to new systems and technologies
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a team environment
  • Keen interest to learn and grow in the role, with the Wealth Advisors in the team
  • Patient and highly adaptable in liaising and coordinating across various parties in the scope of responsibilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Alongside fluent English, fluency in both spoken and written Mandarin is essential to support Chinese speaking advisors and clients
  • Knowledge of relevant systems and software packages including but not limited to e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other information sources
