[What the role is]
Singapore Land Authority is the geospatial agency in Singapore, managing and operating a web-based public map platform to provide localised and accurate map data and location-based services (LBS) to serve many government agencies, private sectors and general public. We are looking for a talented web application developer to join our diverse and multi-disciplined engineering team to create feature-rich and high performance front-end for the next generation of map and LBS. This is an excellent opportunity to expose and apply cutting edge web technologies for public goods and make a real-life impact.
[What you will be working on]
Work closely with product managers, UX designers and backend engineers to define and develop web applications in an agile manner.
Build and maintain extensible production-grade front-end code to translate product specification into fully functional interfaces for both desktop and mobile web browsers;
Conduct new front-end technology exploration and create proof-of-concept to address big data visualisation challenges.
[What we are looking for]
Qualification preferably in the areas of Computer Science, Software Engineering, GeoSpatial Science/Technology or equivalent;
3-5 years of industry experience working on web application development, with at least 1 year experience in Agile development;
Proficient knowledge in JQuery, HTML5, CSS3, WebGL, Node.js, popular JS frameworks (React JS, Vanilla JS), RESTful APIs, and cross-browser implementations;
Good to have experience in open source geospatial solutions/libraries (e.g., leaflet, Cesium), database (e.g., PostGres/GIS, MongoDB) and Cloud, Container/Docker;
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a team.
