Job Description


The Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Manager is responsible for maintaining and implementing WSH policies and procedures, to promote a safe work environment across all properties and projects under the responsibility of OPS. This role reports to the VP / ED of Property & Project Management and will work alongside the team of property, facilities and project management professionals responsible for their respective portfolios.

  • Support the business in WSH requirements.
  • Develop and administer WSH policies, standards and guidelines for the business.
  • Oversee the implementation of Workplace Safety and Health Management System (WSHMS) plans.
  • Analyse data on WSH performance, conditions and practices.
  • Monitor legislation and other WSH related applicable codes and guidelines for implementation on operations.
  • Carry out WSH compliance inspections, evaluate WSH non-compliance, unsafe work conditions and practices to identify WSH performance gaps.
  • Conduct WSH incident and accident investigations, review investigation findings to identify causes of incidents and accidents, propose corrective and preventive measures to address root cause of incident.
  • Manage and coordinate the incident management process, from detection to logging, tracking until closure.
  • Evaluate impact of health and safety hazards to human and property safety and prioritise issues based on severity.
  • Coordinate WSH programme initiatives.
  • Coordinate Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) drills and the maintenance of emergency response equipment.
  • Implement Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) and communicate it to stakeholders.
  • Identify areas for improvement in the WSHMS and monitor the implementation progress of recommended WSHMS improvements.
  • Maintain WSHMS documentation and conduct document reviews of WSHMS reports.
  • Provide advice on WSH programme requirements to staff.
  • Conduct training for staff on WSH related matters to promote awareness, build knowledge and competency.
Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

At least 12 years of relevant experience working in a WSH management role, preferably with a property development or property facilities management organisation. Prior experience working in a corporate real estate environment within banking & finance organisations will be beneficial.
  • Good knowledge local legislation, codes and guidelines related to Workplace Safety and Health.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and confidence to interact with a range of stakeholders to build strong and effective working relationships.
  • Self-driven and highly motivated. Able to work independently, be resourceful and possess a keen ability to learn.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Degree or Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health / Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
  • Relevant professional training and certification courses.
