Imperium Commodity Search is retained by a global financial institution with interests in brokerage, asset management and intermediation across a broad range of asset classes. Our client is active in Europe, the USA, Middle East and APAC regions with clients across interest rates, commodities and equities.
To facilitate the next phase of growth, our client is seeking a mid-level broker with a background in energy, cross commodity, carbon or biofuels markets to establish a foothold in the Singapore market with structured and sustained growth potential. This position will be responsible for the growth of the brand across the target commodity markets in Singapore, supporting and supported by the well-established desks in the European markets.
Currently active in a range of energy/bio commodities in Europe, the position will focus on the brokerage of Listed (primarily) & OTC contracts in Biofuels, Carbon Emissions and JKM & LNG markets.
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist an international team in the preparation and distribution of daily market reports in biofuels, carbon and JKM markets
• Execute Listed (CME, Bursa Malaysia, SGX etc.) on behalf of Corporate (Energy & Commodity related) and Institutional investors
• Identifying cross-commodity trade opportunity and market them to clients (LNG, JKM, Carbon, Emissions, Gas, Biofuels) as well as offering structured product solutions where appropriate
• Manage both voice and electronic execution for clients, ensuring timely and efficient trade management and execution
• Actively develop relationships with new clients in the Singapore region whilst promoting and maintaining existing relationships to drive cross sell and upsell revenues
• Identify potential clients in the energy, cross commodity and biofuels/carbon space and drive business development through cold approaches
• Work with senior management to drive the growth of the Singaporean business across relevant commodity asset classes
• Liaise with international teams in Europe and the USA to drive new trade and business development ideas across futures, options and swaps business

Requirements:

• 3-5 years' or more experience in a like role, covering execution and brokerage in cross commodity markets (biofuels, carbon, emissions, gas, JKM, LNG etc.)
• Excellent knowledge of derivatives and paper markets (futures, options, swaps) primarily on Listed business/exchange traded
• Good attention to detail with the ability to judge risk/reward for internal decisions and client facing recommendations
• Computer literate (specifically Microsoft Excel)
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with an ability to multitask and work to deadlines
• Knowledge of the biofuels, carbon or JKM markets/similar cross-commodity desk
• Located in Singapore or able to relocate
• Preferably degree educated in a related field (economics, derivatives, mathematics etc.)
• Good network of clients in the relevant commodity market (biofuels, carbon, JKM etc.)
