Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate

Learning Support Assistant

to provide

1:1 shadow support

for a student with additional learning needs in a school environment. The role focuses on

safeguarding, supervision, and day-to-day learning support

, ensuring the student can participate safely and meaningfully in school activities.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 in-class and out-of-class support to the assigned student Support the student in following classroom routines and school expectations Ensure the student's safety and well-being at all times Assist with transitions between lessons, activities, and school locations Work closely with teachers and the Learning Support / Student Support team Observe and report student progress or concerns to relevant stakeholders Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding and child protection policies

Requirements

Experience working with children with special educational needs (preferred) Calm, patient, and attentive disposition Ability to follow guidance from teachers and support staff Strong sense of responsibility and safeguarding awareness Willingness to undergo background checks and mandatory training (e.g. CPI / child protection)

Preferred Qualifications

Certificate or experience in Special Needs, Early Childhood, Education, or Social Services Prior experience as a shadow teacher, learning support assistant, or classroom aide Able to manage the physical demands of supporting a teenage student, including providing physical guidance or assistance when required to ensure safety.

Pay: $1,400.00 - $2,200.00 per month
