The Orchard Singapore, a member of Millennium & Copthorne International - a dynamic, global hotel group with properties in major gateway cities and operating more than 120 hotels worldwide, is looking The Orchard Singapore, a member of Millennium & Copthorne International - a dynamic, global hotel group with properties in major gateway cities and operating more than 120 hotels worldwide, is looking for passionate and service-oriented individuals for the following position: - 1st Wok Reporting to the Master Chef, the incumbent is responsible to: Responsible for any production related to the Chinese Restaurant & Chinese banqueting department. Ensure quality and quantity of the food items are in accordance with the level of business and the pre-set standard. Responsible for the preparation of all dishes during the service period as instructed by the Chef. Clean, cut and trim all the different vegetables. Check on the quality of the ingredients and of the end products to achieve the maximum guest satisfaction. Make sure that all products meet the pre-set standards, the preordained portion size and that all staffs follow the proper procedure on the recipes. Follow up on any changes in new recipes or work methods pertaining to any new menus and functions as per instructions given by the Chef and recipes. Ensure proper storage and adequate temperature for all products to avoid the development and growth of any bacteria. Check all equipment belonging to the department to ensure that all are in good working condition, and if necessary, report to the supervisor for any problems to be solved, in order to prepare the necessary work/repair orders to the engineering department. Assist in cleaning up the refrigerator, set-up the work station for the day and involve the Stewarding department in general hygiene and sanitation. Check on personal hygiene, clean uniform, sanitation and cleanliness of the work station and work tools. Maintain discipline and proper work practices at all times and in accordance to Hotel's Standard Operating Procedures. Undertake any other ad-hoc duties, relevant to your role, as assigned by the Master Chef.
