Mission Details

Arkema is recruiting for the start-up of its Jurong Island plant in Singapore, a AB/11 Production Engineer.

The plant in Singapore is new and combines monomer and polymer production. It is the result of exceptional investments and aims to support strong demand from the customers in Asia. In the context of a new plant start-up in a country, cultural, managerial and technical issues will be challenging. Another important challenge will be to build a team from scratch.
Monomer process is of great complexity and involves hazardous materials.

Under the authority of the Production Manager AB/11, your objectives are :

  • To start-up the new plant
  • To manage the technical mid-term operation subjects to meet business objectives with the best economics
  • To ensure HSEQ best in class performances
  • To support people in operation team. To foster collaboration with support departments
ACTIVITY
Operation contact for all technical mid-term topics. Technical support for complex issues.

As it is a grassroots built plant, the first part of the mission is training, recruiting, building up of documentation of major policies and procedures of the department, commissioning, and start-up activities.

TECHNICAL SCOPE :
  • Assist Production Manager in managing plant start- up, shut down, and normal production activities.
  • Lead production team in daily safe, effective and efficient operations through consistent monitoring
  • Attend Daily and Monthly Operation Meeting.
  • Ensure Shift Team Leader provide relevant shift report .
  • Improves and optimizes process parameters for plant (cost of production, improve product quality and production consistency)
  • Update production volume
  • Ensure daily production report in place
  • Provide Technical support & assistance to production team & other discipline related to operational technical issue.
  • Develop & review of the Standard Operation procedures and guideline.
  • Develop & enhance Operation Team development of process knowledge & technical skill.
  • Lead & participate in the process safety review activities
  • Liaise with other disciplines for any plan or follow up operational issue.
  • Review & Validate PTW & LOTOTO process to ensure all related activity are safely carried out without any safety issue.
  • Develops and implement management rules, disciplines, and records according to plant regulation.
  • Committed to keep plant running safely.

Required Profile

Education: Degree in chemical engineering with a significant experience in chemical process, 2 years minimum.
Knowledge:
  • Practical knowledge in chemical engineering.
  • Risks management related to hazardous chemical process
  • Knowledge of IT tools for tracking units.

Status: 2 years in expatriation
