Key Responsibilities:

  • Consistently achieve or exceed assigned sales target on quarterly and yearly basis, within assigned expense guidelines and territory.
  • Timely submission of forecasts, weekly reports, monthly highlights and other related reports for defined territory to Sales Supervisor
  • Ability to use sales tools, organize and accurately forecast territory results, provide market intelligence, implement value selling and meet sales objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and current records of proposals, opportunities, accounts, contacts, leads and actions. Use SalesForce Dot Com (SFDC) CRM as the primary reporting tool.
  • Sells new products by establishing key customer relationships and understanding customer application needs.
  • KOL (Key Opinion Leader) customer management including microbiologist, laboratory manager and medical technologist in industry - food industry, pharmaceutical industry and testing laboratory for existing and new products and to establish reference site.
  • Supervise competitive activity and industry trends, drive attractive solutions to meet sales goals.
  • Identify, develop, and close large account or global customers.
  • Regular and proactive updating of management on any new developments in the marketplace for example: competitor behaviors, product issues, customer changes, wins or potential misses.
  • Call on all organizational levels and functional areas, using Strategic Selling techniques within assigned account which influence purchasing decisions.
  • Able to do technical sales presentation to potential customers.
  • Prospect and establish new opportunities by leading a sales pipeline and developing and delivering proposals to customers by illustrating Thermo Fisher's value proposition
  • Build and sustain relationships with customers and ensure customer happiness and dedication.
  • Handle Thermo Scientific microbiology product portfolio and implement company defined sales and marketing strategies.
  • Leverage available resources to successfully implement company marketing plan, strategies and sales processes.
  • Share standard processes and effective business strategies with team, management and peers.
  • Ability to plan, implement and measure with a strong sense of urgency to get results.
  • Maintain a high degree of knowledge of company products and policies. Coordinate any training requirement for the team with marketing and technical support.
  • Be an advocate for Thermo Fisher Scientific and our 4i's. Take all opportunities for cross selling and business development opportunities for other divisions.
  • This role requires travel within Singapore.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • A Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Microbiology, Pathology or related fields.
  • 1-3 years in scientific sales experience, preferably in Pharmaceutical, Environmental or Food industries.
  • Knowledge in Molecular Biology techniques, pharmaceutical quality control/ aseptic process control will be preferred
  • Ability to identify new target accounts every week and be able to develop and implement territory plans.

  • Ideally some lab experience in a relevant area.
  • Capable of handling major and sophisticated accounts.
  • Commercially aware, highly motivated and target driven.
  • Customer orientated and able to drive activities that improve customer happiness.
  • Organized, able to work independently and in teams with self-motivated demeanor.
  • Computer literate with skills in Microsoft Office; Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in SAP and SFDC CRM will be a plus.

  • Successful sales record
  • Capable of handling major and sophisticated accounts
  • Excellent written and verbal in communication skills and presentation skills
  • Basic microbiology experiences or knowledge in pharmaceutical microbiology laboratory
