Our clients and partners span the spectrum of the public and private sectors including foundations such as the Rockefeller Foundation and Bank of America-Merrill Lynch Foundation, corporations such as Standard Chartered Bank and KKR, international non-profits such as Oxfam and World Vision, multilateral institutions such as the Asian Development Bank, UN Agencies such as UNDP, and government agencies such as USAID and SIDA About the role: IIX is seeking an Accountant to be based in Singapore. The Accountant will assist the SVP, Finance in managing the accounting records, processing transactions, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with the relevant regulations. The main responsibilities of the Accountant will include the following:
  • Manage several full sets of accounts (AR, AP, GL) including reconciliation and preparation of schedules;
  • Perform daily accounting & finance duties such as invoice and payment processing and preparation of payment vouchers;
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting (Month-end and year-end close) and preparation of monthly management account for budget variance analysis;
  • Assist in AR Monitoring and collection
  • Preparation of statutory financial reports in accordance with Financial Reporting Standards in Singapore
  • Preparing the necessary reports and documentation for periodical financial reporting to stakeholders, including donors, governmental bodies, and program managers
  • Handle Corporate Tax including the filing of returns and liaising with tax agents / IRAS
  • Assist and support audit process (statutory and other external audits, as required)
  • Continuously review existing processes to optimize and improve efficiency while ensuring robust internal controls across all funds.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned
Job requirements:
  • Degree in Accountancy or equivalent, preferably CA;
  • Minimum 3-4 years experience in accounting and financial reporting. Must have experience in handling full-set of accounts;
  • Experience in handling a full set of accounts;
  • Proficient in MS Office especially Excel (Pivot table, Vlookup, and Sumif formulae);
  • Meticulous, organized and good attention to detail;
  • Ability to act independently and execute sound judgment;
  • Able to work independently and possesses strong analytical and interpersonal skills;
  • Team player who is hands-on, meticulous, willing to learn and work beyond a job -scope when necessary;
  • Experience working and or having exposure with an International company is a plus factor;
  • Experience with Quickbooks would be advantageous.
