:DepartmentThe Finance department is responsible for all key accounting, reporting and tax matters affecting the company and for the design, implementation, maintenance and operation of financial processes and internal controls.The Finance department is accountable for the management and oversight of the following functions:

  • Accounting
  • Consolidation reporting
  • Financial control
  • Financial planning & analysis
  • Settlements
  • Tax
Key roles and responsibilitiesMainly responsible for ensuring proper accounting and financial reporting, including effective operations of the general ledger and financial closing for the Singapore, London, and US operations:
  • Maintain the financial books and records in accordance with financial reporting standards and statutory requirement, including assessing the impact of changes in accounting standards and ensuring appropriate accounting treatment of the Group\'s business activities.
  • Analyse trade flows and transactions on a daily basis to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Perform and monthly closing and consolidation process to ensure accurate and timely group and statutory reporting
  • Perform reconciliation of accounting to trading systems to ensure the accuracy of accounting ledger
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of accounting profit and loss against Middle Office profit and loss.
  • Identify and evaluate discrepancies for necessary adjustments.
  • Prepare accounting schedules and conduct monthly analytical review of fluctuation in financial positions and performance
  • Prepare the monthly/quarterly financial reporting packages, and annual financial statements in accordance with the financial reporting standards
  • Support audit and review process by external auditors and the internal control/audit team
  • Identify opportunities for process and controls improvements and implement them to enhance operational efficiency and financial reporting quality.
  • Support in the implementation of IT initiatives/projects and Finance BI functionality.
  • Support Finance/Accounting Manager on ad-hoc duties as assigned
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve the overall JERAGM\'s goals and objectives
  • Work outside of normal business hours will be required at times, such as month-end closing
  • Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with trading and accounting standards and other compliance requirements
Qualifications:Key Qualifications, Experience and Requirements
  • Possess a Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting or equivalent professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CA or its equivalents)
  • 3-5 years of relevant working experience with at least 2 years in a commodity trading company and/or accounting/audit firm with a focus on the audit of commodity trading firms is desired
  • Strong technical understanding of mark-to-market accounting in the commodity trading business is essential
  • Positive, conscientious, hands-on, and self-driven. Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong logical thinking and analytical skills with attention to details and accuracy
  • Collaborative team team player and thrives on excellence and continuous improvement
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under time pressure
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Sun/Horizon system experience is an advantage
  • System savvy and proficient in Microsoft Excel is desirable
