RoleIn Accounting and Finance, you take on a crucial role in AGX's headquarter team. You will be the primary contact of AGX customers and partners (small and medium-sized freight forwarders) with regard to invoices and accounting. You will make sure AGX's books are always up to date and manage financial controlling and forecasting in close collaboration with the CEO to make sure there is constant visibility into the company's performance.The mission and visionLook around you. >90% of the things you see have been in a shipping container at some point. Surprisingly, while being a 500+ billion-dollar industry, 80% of the market is still dominated by small and medium-sized freight forwarders. They mostly organize shipments via countless back and forth in email. AGX helps these forwarders take a step forward and digitalize themselves to compete with emerging digital and global players. We provide them with the digital toolset to keep their backs free so they can focus on their superior operational service offering.We do this by building a communication and collaboration platform that slashes unnecessary emails and double data entry by connecting relevant data sources and providing a common work interface. Our vision is to standardize information exchange in international logistics like the container did for shipping - if successful, this will also boost global GDP.We are a team uniting decades of experience in SME-, and digital forwarding, tech, and consulting. Our team focuses on listening, speaking up to improve the status quo, and making everyone on this journey with us realise their full potential.You will make sure we always know what is going on in the companyAs one of the first people on board in the AGX headquarters, you will be able to build and design a full-fledged accounting and financial controlling setup and develop yourself into a leadership role. You will be a core point of contact for customers, vendors and build a basis for investor reporting You ensure efficient, accurate, and timely execution of accounting procedure You prepare all data for necessary government and tax filings You make sure invoices are processed timely, keep accounts payable and receivable up to date and small. You ensure solid invoice controlling as well as timely payment to service providers You support the leadership team in providing weekly management reports to investors You act as a core contact for all banks as well as tax advisors, auditors, and authorities Special projects: In a startup, there is always something to be doneRequirements You have a degree in economics/business with a focus on accounting/taxes or business education or further training as an account. CPA strongly preferred. At least 3 years of experience in finance and accounting in an (international) company or startup with work experience in the SFRS/GAAP requirements of your local region You have strong spoken and written English communication skills You are very detail-oriented and like to work in an organized and structured way.
