Job Purpose and Impact

The Accounting Specialist is part of the Controllership team who will be responsible to manage the integrity of Cargill\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s internal and external financial reporting primarily for Metals Business Unit. In this role, you will be responsible for activities, such as reconciliation of trading results to accounting books, coordinating month end close activities and performing financial review and analysis of financial results for group and statutory reporting for the legal entity.

Key Accountabilities

• Perform reconciliation of trading results to accounting books and provide explanation on any variances.
• Perform financial review and provide commentary analysis of results.
• Responsible for accurate financial reporting and compliance with organizational guidelines, policies, and requirements.
• Participate in process improvement and other projects, providing accounting and finance support to multiple teams in partnership with related functional areas.
• Act as primary point of contact for selected processes to ensure all internal controls are in place and monitored.
• Perform statutory and tax reporting activities for the Business Unit to ensure accurate and timely reporting and compliance with the requirements.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s degree in Accounting/ Finance or CA/ CPA equivalent qualification
• Minimum of four years of related work experience of which 2 years in recognized audit firms
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Confirmed ability to learn and adapt to changes.
• Good financial analysis skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in accounting for commodity trading and financial reporting
• Intermediate knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
• Experience working with shared service

• Implement or monitor internal controls and ensure financial processes are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Drive financial reporting operational and improvement activities.
