Accounts Specialist, (general Accounting)

Job Description


The primary responsibility of the Accounts Specialist is to process expense vendor invoices, prepare month-end A/P accruals, perform bank and other balance sheet account reconciliation, and other daily and month-end accounting activities as directed. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Accounts Payable

  • Perform invoice validation, and account coding and ensure approvals according to company authorization policies.
  • Schedule vendor payments in accordance with payment cycles & monitor discount opportunities. Follow up & resolve invoice/payment discrepancies. Reconcile vendor account balances with monthly statements.
  • Prepare month-end A/P accruals and perform entries in General Ledger.
  • Perform OFAC checks for all new vendors.
Cash Management
  • Perform month-end bank reconciliations and follow up on outstanding reconciling items.
  • Assist in cash transfer forecast and prepare ad-hoc payment requests.
General Ledger Activities
  • Maintain fixed assets register and the supporting documentation.
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliation and schedules update.
  • Work on daily & monthly close accounting activities, reporting pack compilation & GST report preparation.
  • Active participation in continuous process improvement and system upgrade testing.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION & COMPETENCIES
  • Diploma in Accounting qualification or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in enterprise accounting systems.
  • Detail-oriented, good organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Concise and professional communication.
  • Team-and performance-oriented.
