Job Description

We are currently seeking for an Additive Manufacturing Engineer who:
- have strong knowledge and the ability to apply principles and techniques of engineering / material science / welding for additive manufacturing (AM) of large metal parts using wire-based directed energy deposition method
(Strong interest and experience in other AM technologies are also welcome)
- appreciate the opportunity to work on various elements of AM commercial development, from research, development and design through to equipment system fabrication and integration, and product manufacturing and testing
- opportunity to undergo further training and development overseas
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Work with suppliers, clients, and stakeholders to understand product requirements and process qualification needs, and provide the relevant solutions / improvements
- Work with internal (software and hardware) teams to design, develop, test and analyze product and service solutions / improvements
- Development, qualification, implementation, and continuous improvement of the additive manufacturing process
- Hands-on approach to operating wire-based additive manufacturing devices/system, including parameter settings and process control
- Investigate materials / mechanical properties and deviations, as well as geometric accuracy to trouble-shoot and develop optimal “print” parameters for manufacturing quality
- Provide training to end-users on related process and use of applicable devices/system and software
- Undertake research and keep up to date with the latest technology advances and regulations
- Create relevant reports and documentation
- Going out on site (local and overseas) where required

Qualifications, Key Skills & Desired Qualities:
- Bachelor Degree / Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Material Science / Welding Engineering or related technical discipline
- Strong computer and mathematical skills
- Working knowledge of CAD/CAM and IT
- Able to read, interpret and create engineering drawings, including the ability to understand geometrical dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T)
- Knowledge and experience in additive manufacturing, subtractive manufacturing, and joining techniques for metals
- Practical knowledge of metallurgical and mechanical properties of commonly used industrial metals
- Practical knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE) and Finite Element Analysis for thermo-structural/mechanical modelling
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective documentation, presentation, and composition skill
- Flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to change
- Self-motivated and possesses hands-on attitude and initiative
- Highly organized and able to work in a team environment
- Creative enough to generate innovative ideas and solutions
