Job Description

Role Responsibilities
The role holder will be responsible for proactively managing the credit risk (monitoring and analysis) of a complex portfolio of Global Credit Markets (GCM) accounts in close co-ordination with the originating deal team.
Strategy

  • Actively support in managing the GCM loan portfolio returns by minimising ECLs (overall ECL to be within the Budget set for Financing Risk).
  • Monitor the Credit Grades constantly and recommend timely downgrades and upgrades as necessary.
  • Monitor LGD benefits remains in line with the benefits expected during deal origination.
The role holder will be responsible for proactively managing the credit risk (monitoring and analysis) of a complex portfolio of GCM accounts in close co-ordination with the originating deal team. Role Holder will also be accountable for the development of an additional analyst (if required).
Business
  • Proactive, comprehensive and timely credit analysis through BCA renewals, waiver and amendment requests and documentation of credit events.
  • Evaluation and understanding of risks associated with Leveraged Finance / Project and Export Finance / Structured Finance transactions, structural, contractual and external risks.
  • Financial analysis of a customer base using credit skills; ratio analysis; balance sheet and cashflow analysis.
  • Evaluation of security, including parental support.
  • Evaluation of company management and strategy.
  • Early detection of adverse credit issues and early alert reporting to credit as required.
  • Completing financial spreads (where required), analysing long term financial models and completing credit grade assessments.
  • Compliance with Bank policy and procedures.
Portfolio Management
  • Monitoring, review and reporting (where required) of covenanted items.
  • Quarterly portfolio reporting.
  • Timely response to portfolio related queries to other areas in the Bank.
  • Accurate and timely responses to ad hoc reporting requests (including regulatory reporting).
  • Active participation in projects which will impact upon the GCM Portfolio.
  • Ensure that credit files are complete and maintained to an auditable standard.

  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 5 plus years of experience in Portfolio Analytics and Monitoring in Financial Markets
  • Core Credit Curriculum Certified (internal SCB course) not applicable for external candidates
  • Credit analysis and Financial analysis skills.
  • Able to analyse excel-based financial models.
  • Must be sensitive to short time frames and be able to quickly assess and turnaround applications to credit.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and can work with little supervision.
Role Specific Technical Competencies
  • Ability to undertake credit analysis and evaluation and understanding of risks associated with Global Credit Market deals.
  • Financial analysis of a complex customer base using credit skills; ratio analysis; balance sheet and cashflow analysis.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to analyse excel-based financial models.
