Capital College of the Arts, Management and Technology (CCAMT) is actively seeking dynamic educators to join our School of Education as adjunct lecturers. We are specifically looking for candidates who are passionate about teaching in the Master of Arts in Education program and have expertise in these key areas:

  • Introduction to Criticality: Introducing critical thinking skills and perspectives in education.
  • Leading Organizational Effectiveness in Education and Training: Understanding leadership principles in educational organizations.
  • Assessment Theory into Pedagogical Practice: Applying assessment theories and practices in educational settings.
  • The Nature of Teaching and Learning: Understanding the fundamental principles of teaching and learning.
  • Inclusive Education from Policy to Practice: Exploring inclusive education policies and practices.
  • Curriculum in the Contemporary World: Examining contemporary curriculum theories and practices.
  • Gender & Diversity: Exploring issues of gender and diversity in education.
As an adjunct lecturer, the candidate will have the opportunity to deliver high-quality instruction in the above key areas, ensuring that the program\'s learning objectives are met and students are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed for success in the field of education. The candidate is expected to work collaboratively with other faculty members, contribute to curriculum development, and engage in reflective practice to continuously enhance your teaching effectiveness.

This is a part-time position, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and faculty needs. Responsibilities:


  • Facilitate and deliver instruction in identified key concepts, such as critical thinking skills, research methods, professional development, reflective practice, mentoring and coaching, organizational effectiveness, assessment theory, inclusive education, barriers to learning, social and emotional health support, contemporary curriculum, leadership, and diversity.
  • Design and implement instructional materials, activities, and assessments that align with identified key concepts and meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in conducting independent research, writing a thesis, and developing advanced professional practice in subject-related disciplines.
  • Encourage self-reflection and critical analysis of teaching practices, promote inclusive education policies and practices, and identify and address barriers to effective learning.
  • Develop leadership skills, understand leader identity in educational settings, and explore issues of gender and diversity in education.
  • Evaluate and assess student performance, provide feedback, and support student progress towards achieving learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, faculty, and stakeholders to enhance the quality of education and training.
  • Engage in professional development to stay current with research, best practices, and trends in education.
  • Participate in program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts to enhance the effectiveness of educational programs.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to early career teachers, promote reflective practice, and support continuous professional growth.
  • Participate in curriculum development and enhancement activities to ensure the relevance and currency of instructional materials and practices.
  • Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of teaching, mentoring, and leadership, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning and inclusion in all aspects of teaching, mentoring, and leadership, creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to teaching, mentoring, and program coordination, such as grading, record-keeping, and attendance tracking, in a timely and efficient manner, as required.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum of a Master\'s degree in a relevant field of Education, Pedagogy, or related discipline, with expertise in the identified key concepts, such as critical thinking skills, research methods, professional development, reflective practice, mentoring and coaching, organizational effectiveness, assessment theory, inclusive education, barriers to learning, social and emotional health support, contemporary curriculum, leadership, and diversity.
  • Strong background in practical experience in implementing and deploying instructional materials, activities, and assessments that align with the identified key concepts and meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Proven experience in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, preferably in field of Education, or related area, with a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality lectures and seminars using a combination of theoretical and practical learning approaches.
  • Strong commitment to academic excellence and a desire to contribute to the ongoing development of the program, including the refinement of learning outcomes, evaluation of course materials and assessments, and identification of opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to design and deliver engaging course materials, including lecture notes, assignments, case studies, simulations, and other instructional materials that align with the program\'s learning objectives, and promote self-reflection, critical analysis, inclusive education policies, and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and address barriers to effective learning, and support the social, emotional, and mental health needs of learners.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing leadership skills, understanding leader identity in educational settings, and exploring issues of gender and diversity in education.
  • Strong evaluation and assessment skills, including providing timely and constructive feedback on student work, and supporting student progress towards achieving learning outcomes.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, faculty, and stakeholders to enhance the quality of education and training.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development, staying current with research, best practices, and trends in education, and actively engaging in program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Experience in providing mentorship and guidance to early career teachers, promoting reflective practice, and supporting continuous professional growth.
  • Participation in curriculum development and enhancement activities to ensure the relevance and currency of instructional materials and practices.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills: The candidate should be able to demonstrate their ability to think critically and creatively about how to solve problems in the field of education, using innovative technologies and networks in a way that aligns with the principles of Education 4.0 and beyond.
  • Organization and time management skills: The candidate should have strong organizational and time management skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Interpersonal skills: The candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to build rapport with students and foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Continuous learning: The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in educational practices and research.
The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the following competencies :
  • Strong understanding of andragogy, the principles of adult learning, and ability to apply them effectively in instructional design and delivery.
  • Proven ability to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion, and encourages active participation of students in their learning process.
  • Demonstrated skill in facilitating discussion and collaboration among students, promoting engagement and interaction in the classroom.
  • Ability to provide timely and constructive feedback on student work, supporting their learning and growth.
  • Experience in guiding students in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, applying pedagogical strategies that encourage higher-order thinking.
  • Proficiency in utilizing various teaching methods, such as case studies, simulations, and real-world applications of technologies, to enhance student learning experiences.
  • Commitment to promoting lifelong learning, and ability to inspire and motivate students to engage in continuous learning and professional development.
