The selected candidate will teach the Urban Data and The Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) cluster at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) is seeking applicants for an adjunct lecturer position to start in January 2023. The selected candidate will teach the Urban Data and Methods II: Computational Urban Analysis course in the MSc in Urban Science, Policy and Planning programme. The MSc in Urban Science exposes students to three core areas of Urban Science: Theory, Data & Methods, and Policy and Planning. The Data & Methods courses utilize R and the tidyverse collection of packages as a consistent data science software foundation. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in statistical, data science and or/machine learning methods and is comfortable teaching techniques such as dimension reduction, cluster analysis, (spatial) regression, data classification and machine learning and their application in the urban domain. The Computational Urban Analysis course consists of 3 contact hours per week with additional time for course preparation, student consultation and grading. The course has been taught in previous years and the selected candidate can build forth on existing course materials, including labs and exercises (to be shared with short-listed candidates).
