Advertising Sales Manager Responsibilities

  • Initiate discussions with customers through emails, calls, and scheduled meetings.
  • Deliver sales pitches convincing clients.
  • Highlight the benefits of various ad services and their capacity to reach a target market.
  • Explain the features of available ad space and their accompanying rates.
  • Supervise the hiring and daily operations of advertising sales representatives.
  • Carry out market research to identify new techniques.
  • Collaborate with heads of various departments in an advertising company to take important decisions related to choice of advertising media and advertising strategies.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with clients to ensure effective business dealings.
  • Prepare advertising budgets, set targets, and assign job duties.
  • Review media placements and ad campaigns to ensure they meet all clients\xe2\x80\x99 specifications..
  • Manage the sales team to sell advertisement space and time.
  • Ensure on-time delivery and quality of advertisements.
  • Develop sales strategies to achieve the short and long term sales revenue objectives.
  • Review the sales processes and suggest improvements.
  • Develop innovative and creative ideas for increasing sales.
  • Develop an overall budget and manage expenses within the budget.
  • Prioritise customers based on revenue potential.
  • Determine new sales opportunities by studying the latest market trends.
  • Plan the advertising account activities such as identifying customers, managing resources, and setting deadlines.
  • Determine sales forecast and present the figures to the management and customers.
  • Prepare sales presentations and proposals for customers.
  • Building and sustaining long-lasting relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Conducting research on potential clients\' products or services and determining the geographic location of the majority of their target customers.
  • Setting up meetings with potential clients to present advertising proposals and address their concerns.
  • Assisting the marketing team in the preparation of media kits and promotional plans.
  • Attending sales meetings, trade shows, and training workshops as required.
  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team
  • Own recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of sales representatives.
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
  • Proactively promotes research knowledge to other departments.
  • Ensure the unit meets revenue and customer satisfaction objectives for direct areas of responsibility using the value selling process.
  • Coach and develop local market sales executives (including team meetings, one-on-ones, professional development, ) to generate world class sales multiplatform results and ensure plans and best practices are implemented and tracked.
  • Provide financial evaluation and strategic input in the creation of advertiser incentive deals that influence advertiser behaviour.
  • Serve as the business partner to senior sales and finance management, communicate forecast, trends and contract incentive assumptions.
  • Prepare budget and operating review materials/presentations and manage ongoing reporting against budget and investment objectives.
  • Communicates job expectations by planning, monitoring, and reviewing job contributions.
  • Accomplishes sales objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating advertisements.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the director.
Advertising Sales Manager Requirements and skills
  • Bachelor\'s or associate\'s degree in advertising, communications, or related fields is preferred.
  • Proven working experience as an advertising sales manager.
  • Broad experience with SEO.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong IT skills, including database development.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficiency with computerised financial systems, such as accounting programs(Tally), databases, payment processing, excel spreadsheets, payroll services.
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
  • Strong business sense and industry expertise.
