IT Operations manages the IT infrastructure and supporting services that are critical for HSBC employees and customers, such as cost-efficient hardware, system software, middleware and databases, data centres, voice and data networks, ATMs, desktops and other devices.

The area comprises five functions: Client Services, Enterprise Services and Architecture, Data Centre and Service Management, Relationship Management, Project Management and Risk and Administration. Collectively, these areas define and deliver HSBC\xe2\x80\x99s technology strategy to support the Group\xe2\x80\x99s goals.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Agile Business Analyst.

Principal Responsibilities

HSBC Group Technology is undergoing a significant transformation to new, agile ways of working that build closer business partnerships and more focused delivery for our Customers.

Speed of Work (SpoW) was initiated in September 2021, it is a multiyear initiative, to simplify and accelerate delivery through end-to-end Agile Transformation, including:

  • Increase Agile Maturity, design and transition to Value Stream (VS) operating model in each GBGF
  • Implement QBR and LPM governance supported by Strategic Tooling suite
  • Transition to Technology Platforms with cross-functional Agile Teams
  • Agile training, coaching and culture change
  • Finance simplification
  • DevSecOps, focused on increasing speed of delivery and optimising Technology costs via automation of manual activities and optimisation of consumption
The Agile Business Analyst is a member of the SpoW team and is responsible for:
  • Influence and contribution to the SpoW strategy, implementation plans & to support implementation of the strategy
  • Leading Quarterly Business Reviews, PI Planning, Retrospectives & Show and Tells
  • Metrics: reporting, development, automation and analysis and insights reporting in partnership with GBGF Transformation Leads (TLs) & SpoW Team up to Tier 1, , Value Stream & Enabler Scorecard &executive scorecard reporting, Ensuring metrics Confluence pages are maintained, including data sources, calculations, governance approvals with full traceability
  • Support the Agile Strategy & Design Lead to track & report VS Mobilisation - Maintain & develop the VS Target End State Map aligned to Bank on A Page/Architecture & to Metrics development
  • Partner with GBGF TLs to understand / capture transformation plans/roadmaps to inform Speed of Work key priorities and backlog, and to enable Agile Execution Committee (AEC) & Agile Decision Forum (ADF) Agenda forward planning aligned to GBGF priorities & SpoW Agile Strategy
  • Presentation materials for key Exec forums such as, Agile Execution Committee (AEC), Agile Decision Forum (ADF) and, GEC, Technology Governance Working Group (TGWG), Change Prioritisation & Oversight Committee (CPOC) , including executive support: for example, GEC, TGWG, CPOC, AEC coordination and materials
  • Stakeholder management: partner closely with the business to understand its needs and provide thought partnership/leadership to accelerate delivery
  • Support the Head of Group Agile & DevSecOps Enablement & Speed of Work Pillar Leads (Design & Strategy, LPM & Tooling and People Enablement) with key tasks and activities as required eg. Ad hoc Exec & GEC level papers, HSBC Agile Framework Design, GBGF pilots (E2E VS, One Wallet), Events, Training, Comms & Culture and Agile Community activities
  • Experience in creating highly engaged and motivated teams. Ability to prioritise, manage time effectively, escalate issues appropriately, and keep information confidential. Effectively mitigate risks and resolves complex challenges across an extensive transformation programme. Strong focus on results
This role will engage across all areas of HSBC and will face off to MDs, and General Managers and their senior transformation leads and HSBC Executive Committees. The successful candidate will need to have credibility working with senior leaders and be able to navigate ambiguity across complex transformation landscapes.

Requirements

Experience
  • Experienced in TMO or PMO set-up & run & Business Analysis
  • Metrics strategy, development, automation, analysis & reporting
  • 7-10 years experience in TMO & Business Analysis within a complex, global business
  • Highly motivated with initiative, capable of working without supervision. Ability to grasp new concepts quickly
  • Establishing and improving governance forums & engagement
  • Proven ability to deliver through remote teams
  • Excellent leadership & inter-personal skills \xe2\x80\x93 ability to lead a cross-functional team and work with a range of stakeholders
  • Team-spirited and can work under pressure, co-ordinating multiple project(s) at any one time
  • Strong sense of integrity, respect for confidentiality, sound judgment and decision-making skills
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office / Excel / PPT / Confluence and project management tools
  • Existing project management qualifications (PRINCE2, PMI, APM) preferred
  • Agile experience and qualification required
  • Experience working in a consultative manner with senior stakeholders, specifically with objectives relating to communications, cultural change, coaching, or people driven initiatives
  • Commercially viable and understands digital platforms, services and underlying processes
  • Very strong collaboration, influencing and relationship building skills. Proven at delivering effective and successful change in a matrix environment
  • Strong, teamwork, judgement and decision making, and communication competencies
  • Consultancy approach and skillset with the ability to identify and articulate complex problems and solutions
  • Respectful and cognizant of the advantages of different working cultures, working with colleagues from across all 5 regions (North America, LATAM, Middle East, Asia Pacific and Europe) and every Global Business and Global Function
Knowledge
  • Passion, interest and demonstrated experience in complex and matrixed teams
  • Opinionated and very strong understanding of Scaled Agile principles, with experience and working in scaled agile environment
  • Very strong applied knowledge of change management principles
  • Culturally sensitive, experience with change programmes and the impact it can have on stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of Technology, business, and operational practices and processes and their interdependences
