Job Description

What the role is:Research StaffWhat you will be working on:

• Assist the project leader and co-project leaders to achieve the aims of the research project.
• Conduct research on the development and optimization of organic nutrient solutions for indoor farming.
• Document, collate, analyze, and interpret data related to nutrient formulations and plant growth.
• Manage procurement processes, including liaising with vendors, sourcing materials, equipment, and testing supplies, and raising purchase requests.
• Document and track project issues, expenses, budget, action logs, and equipment maintenance.
• Plan and execute experiments, prepare progress reports, and provide regular updates on project milestones.
• Supervise students and provide guidance on their related project work.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned by the project leader and co-project leaders.

What we are looking for:

• Strong background in biotechnology, microbiology, food science, or related fields, with a focus on sustainable agriculture practices.
• Prior experience and good knowledge of fermentation would be an added advantage.
• Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks with a strong sense of responsibility to meet project milestones.
• Excellent documentation, laboratory techniques, and research data analysis skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.
• Successful candidates will be employed on a contract basis.
