Join us as an Agri-sustainability Operator (ASO)

At Insect Feed Technologies, our ambition is to reshape the global food system. To do this, we breed billions of insects to transform food waste into insect protein for animal feed and fertilizer by developing and capitalizing on innovative insect rearing technologies. In 2022, we aim to divert at least 1,500 tonnes of food waste from landfills, and scale our production volumes of insect protein and fertilizer by at least 100x.

We are looking for 2x person to start immediately, and 3x people to start by May. The Role

The Agri-Sustainability role is suitable for anyone that is physically able, eager to contribute to this mission, and could come from a range of backgrounds. From uni graduates to someone with extensive experience in manufacturing to someone that is super excited by what we are working on. If you believe you can do or learn to do the following, we encourage you to apply:

• Operate electric vehicles, food waste processing lines, and insect feeding robotic machinery.
• Operate product manufacturing lines to produce insect protein for animal feed and fertiliser.
• Test and implement new initiatives to gain manufacturing line and operational efficiencies.
• Work collaboratively with the production and insect breeding teams to ensure a seamless production system.
• Maintain a high standard of hygiene in all areas of the facility to support our quality standards and certifications.

Our Products We manufacture and market 3 products from our operations

• Insect protein for the sustainable production of aquaculture for food
• Insect oil that we use in animal feed for healthy and sustainable breeding
• Insect excrement which is used as an organic soil amendment.

• You\xe2\x80\x99re a practical, solutions-driven individual that likes to plan beforehand
• You\xe2\x80\x99re a hard worker, and not afraid to get your hands dirty. Being on your feet all day, doing physical tasks doesn\xe2\x80\x99t scare you.
• You may not have proven work experience in this sector, but you are hungry to actively be a part of the change and go above and beyond the norm to make this change happen.
• You take direction well, are always looking to improve and actively seek feedback to level-up your skills.
• You are able to test ideas, eliminate bad ideas quickly and rethink beliefs, to make way for surprising new systems.
• You are comfortable with making decisions.

The outcomes you will achieve with the production team:

Outcome 1: Sufficient food waste processed & products produced to meet weekly targets to reach our R&D goals and scale our current facility to optimum capacity. Our production schedule varies weekly as we test different systems and scale our facility to full capacity.

Outcome 2: The production workflow is efficient, effective, and codified in our Standard Operating Procedures\xe2\x80\x99 (SOPs). Constant improvement to production workflows are essential to refine and introduce automation to how we process food waste and produce our products.

This involves identifying and troubleshooting bottlenecks, hypothesising and testing solutions, and the seamless transition of team insights into our SOPs. These are revised regularly to ensure the whole team is working in precise and solidified methods.
