The Engineering and Technology team is at the core of the Shopee platform development. Set the Vision: Create and carry out the technical plan for Shopee's recommendation systems, ensuring we remain at the cutting edge. This includes actively exploring and applying advanced AI techniques within recommendation scenarios. Guide Technical Work & Innovation: Offer expert guidance to your team, overseeing the entire algorithm lifecycle from research and development to deployment and optimization. Ensure we build robust, scalable, and effective recommendation algorithms. Drive new ideas in areas like multi-scenario and multi-target modeling, user long-sequence behavior modeling, and the application of LLMs in recommendations. Know the Market: Understand our industry and competitors. Use best practices to keep Shopee ahead in recommendation technology. Lead Your Team: Manage, mentor, and grow a large team of engineers and experts. Promote a culture of teamwork, learning, and new ideas. Oversee team projects and performance. Work Together: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to make sure our technical work supports company goals. Show Impact: Improve key business results like user GMV and Ads revenue by continually refining our algorithms.

Requirements:

Master's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field. Minimum 5 years of full-time experience in algorithm development specializing in large-scale recommendation systems. Minimum 5 years of experience leading large technical teams of 30 or more engineers, with proven strengths in hiring, mentoring, and team development. At least 10 years of experience in algorithm development Deep expertise in machine learning, deep learning, data analysis, and recall and ranking optimization. Strong industry knowledge of e-commerce and AI/ML, with the ability to anticipate emerging technology trends and apply them effectively to business challenges. * Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, combining strong communication with a results-driven mindset across teams.
