An Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) - Asia Pacific (APAC) is responsible for the reporting, analysis and planning of APAC corporate departments. The role will provide relevant, accurate and timely management information to the APAC functional and department heads that supports business reviews and decisions.

What will I be doing?
As the Analyst, FP&A - APAC, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Work closely with budget owners, regional Finance teams to support annual budget and monthly forecast process.
  • Relay corporate guidance on forecast, budget expectations to budget owners and execute guidance in forecast / budget submissions.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to understand functional needs, requirements and expectation and incorporate inputs into budgets.
  • Garner insights through analysis on actual spending and tracking against budgets / forecasts.
  • Review and adjust monthly forecasts for corporate overheads.
Reporting
  • Consolidate APAC month-end closing numbers on corporate overheads
  • Produce and distribute Monthly Management Reports on corporate overheads and headcount.
  • Produce the corporate cost section for the monthly APAC Management Dashboard.
  • Produce and distribute Corporate Cost Reports to functional leaders on a monthly basis.
  • Oversee / support distribution of regional offices' Corporate Cost Reports to department heads.
  • Maintain report trackers and follow-up with relevant stakeholders to reflect accurate information.
  • Ensure that all corporate cost reporting is relevant, accurate and timely across APAC.
  • Fulfil ad hoc reporting requests.
Performance Reviews
  • Undertake monthly / quarterly reviews with budget owners to discuss actual and balance of year expenditure, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
  • Review month-end actuals close position of corporate overhead departments with the regional Finance Controllers to ensure that actuals are aligned with expectations and variances are identified and verified.
  • Carry out ad hoc performance reviews.
Analytics
  • Undertake monthly reviews on actual results / forecasts to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare monthly, year to date and full year bridging commentaries for key expense lines.
  • Prepare and submit the Actuals & Forecast Analytics Report to the Global FP&A and Global Brand & Commercial Services (GBCS) Finance teams.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and support to the Global FP&A Team and GBCS Finance Teams.
Support to APAC Functional Leaders / Budget Owners / Key Stakeholders
  • Undertake specific department analysis.
  • Assist functions in ensuring operations are in accordance with budgeted expenditure expectations.
  • Undertake scenario analysis to support strategic decision making.
  • Provide financial information / support and analyses on business-driven initiatives, projects, business cases.
  • Support ad-hoc projects and corporate initiatives as required.
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
  • Ensure timely customer satisfaction (external and internal) on inquiries and requests.
  • Keep up to date on all financial systems.
  • Work with corporate finance in coordinating accounting changes / variances within the various platforms.
  • Attend Corporate and Operations Finance meetings as required.
  • Assist in special projects as required.
  • Report actions taken or procedural changes necessary to prevent recurrence.
  • Assist corporate finance, hotel finance teams, and central finance with financial issues and irregularities.
  • Recommend and help implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Carry out any and all other job duties as assigned.

  • BA / BS / Bachelor's Degree.
  • At least 2 years of work experience in a related field.
  • Experience working in multi-cultural or international settings.
  • Proven ability to deal with large volumes of financial data.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze financial data as required in order to make strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with ability to work with tight deadlines.
  • Confidence to constructively challenge colleagues on financial performance and results.
  • Ability to direct collaboration among cross-functional teams including external resources.
  • Lead by example to resolve conflicts, introduce change and ensure collaboration among others.
  • Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behaviour and absolute discretion with sensitive information.

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills (team orientation, fast, focused and flexible).
  • Strong problem solving skills, including ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate; ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems; ability to develop problem solving skills among direct reports and other team members as appropriate.
  • Understanding of general ledger account structures.
  • Expert skills in Microsoft Excel and analytical tools (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas and Power BI), including the ability to understand / manipulate spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of business mathematics, including ability to calculate percentage changes and averages / weighted averages.
  • Excellent communication skills (presentations, writing and public speaking).
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
  • Qualified Accountant with at least 2 years proven experience in analytics.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin to support Greater China & Mongolia market.
