Financial Institutions \xe2\x80\x93 Singapore Position: Fund Finance Asia \xe2\x80\x93 Analyst / Associate Reporting to: Head of Financial Institutions Sector Lending APAC
ROLE SUMMARY & PROFILE

Overview:
ING\xe2\x80\x99s Financial Institutions (FI) sector combines relationship management, multi product sales and structured lending for Bank and Non-bank Financial Institutions (NBFI). NBFI clients include sponsors, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, pension funds, securities companies and asset managers. FI Lending APAC (FIL) is responsible for all financing in Asia Pacific where the underlying exposure is to a Bank or a NBFI. Fund Finance APAC (FFA) is part of FIL in APAC, and more broadly is a global business for ING, with teams in New York, London, Luxembourg and Hong Kong. FFA is responsible for the origination and execution of new lending transactions to funds in the region as well as the portfolio management of existing deals. At present the team are based in Singapore and Hong Kong. Our clients are predominantly alternative asset fund (private equity, debt, real estate and infrastructure focused) managed by leading financial sponsors and managers. This is an exciting role within FFA and the successful candidate will join in a client-facing position, being a core part of the deal team, with primary responsibilities for credit, new transaction execution and portfolio management.
: New Deal Origination / Execution

  • Produce and finalise credit papers, and discuss with risk management and other stakeholders
  • Completion of annual credit reviews and portfolio monitoring
  • Conduct due diligence, including business, credit, financial, regulatory, and legal diligence
  • Prepare and present transaction proposals to internal stakeholders
  • Be involved in the negotiation of term sheets, facility agreements and other ancillary documentation
  • Manage client onboarding, including set-up in ING systems and oversight of KYC process
  • Coordinate transaction closing, including liaising with risk management and loan operations.
  • Keeping up to date with ING\xe2\x80\x99s legal policy requirements and general market trends
Portfolio Management
  • Prepare quarterly portfolio reports
  • Prepare annual risk rating updates
Process loan modification/amendment requests
  • Review ongoing reporting deliverables, including financials, compliance certificates, borrowing bases, and valuation reports
  • Distribute reporting deliverables to bank syndicates
  • Track covenant compliance
  • Prepare collateral monitoring reports
  • Manage portfolio valuation engagements and client audits
  • Manage ongoing KYC maintenance
  • Maintain various department and industry databases/trackers
General
  • Stay well-informed of trends in the industry and the position of competitors
  • Prepare ad-hoc/general research assignments
  • Liaise with other product specialists and departments throughout ING, including risk management, syndications, loan operations, financial markets, and KYC desk
  • Ensure that clients receive an excellent level of service

Your Profile:
Qualification/Education
  • Fluent in English
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Law
  • Excellent IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Extensive transaction execution experience within an international financial institution
Experience/Knowledge
  • 2-4 years of fund financing/ investment / corporate banking experience (or other relevant field)
  • Credit skills and experience creating proposal from the ground up would be beneficial
