: Business Communications Leader, APAC P&SP

Dow has a rare opportunity for an inspirational communicator to lead its business communications team supporting its Packaging & Specialty Plastics (P&SP) business in Asia Pacific. The APAC Business Communications Leader has primary responsibility for the strategic development and tactical implementation of external positioning strategies that support business growth objectives of the APAC P&SP commercial organization. Additionally, it is critical for these strategies to demonstrate Dow\xe2\x80\x99s commitment to inclusion and diversity, innovation, sustainability, and customer centricity. This position reports directly to P&SP\xe2\x80\x99s Senior Global Business Communications Director with close alignment to the APAC P&SP Commercial Vice President.

This position is based in Singapore and is part of a global team of regionally based communications professional aligned with P&SP. The Leader will supervise an accomplished and dedicated staff of communicators location in Singapore and Shanghai and advance the way the business connects with its external and internal stakeholders. The Leader will work in close collaboration with Marketing, Sustainability, TS&D and Sales to deliver value in strategic markets for plastics, such as food and beverage packaging, industrial and consumer packaging, hygiene and medical applications, industrial applications, mobility and adhesives products. The Leader will support the Commercial Vice President with internal and external communications strategies that provide visibility for the CVP and help drive key messages to employee groups, customers, and industry influencers. The intentions of these strategies are to enable business growth and market leadership in alignment with business priorities.

B2B communications today is strategic, digital first, and demands an approach that is cross-discipline and even more business focused than before. The successful candidate will be someone able to co-create communications strategies and drive buy-ins across teams and is excited to try different approaches to achieving business outcomes, using the rich platforms and tools that are available today.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the development, implementation and execution of communications strategies and plans for APAC P&SP
  • Lead and develop a high-performance team, updating skillsets and ensuring the team is a core enabler of Dow\xe2\x80\x99s digital transformation
  • Develop, implement, and execute product branding strategies, media relations, customer events, product advertising, digital marketing campaigns, customer and value chain communications, social media strategy and website presence for the business.
  • Be a business partner to the Commercial Vice President in driving organizational change and strengthening external positioning to achieve thought leadership in the region
  • Provide direction and play a key role in articulating and communicating the sustainability business value proposition of APAC P&SP\xe2\x80\x99s portfolio
  • Establish key metrics to measure effectiveness of communication program and activities.
  • Ensure business communications staff is working closely with aligned marketing staff to drive integrated, 360-degree campaigns that utilize the most effective mix of communication disciplines with defined budget parameters.
  • Represent and ensure that Asia Pacific business achievements are communicated via internal channels and platforms
  • Establish effective team dynamics and find common ground between diverse groups where winning outcomes can be achieved.
  • Oversee agency mix, drive outside suppliers to deliver excellence, conduct annual review meetings with key suppliers, and work to achieve healthy relations between this critical support network and the business.
KEY SKILLS
  • Strong English language writing skills, creative, and innovative with an ability to interact with a variety of individuals, job levels, and cultures in a professional business environment.
  • Proven competency in agency and outside vendor management.
  • Commitment to developing people, fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace.
  • Solid stakeholder management skills, connecting and building internal and external relationships with a broad range of backgrounds and sectors, e.g. multinational companies, startups, NGOs, business and trade associations, etc.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing and communication channels (i.e. website, social media, SEO, etc.) and metrics.
  • Experience with corporate budgeting processes and project management.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10-12+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in corporate communications and/or marketing communications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or higher in corporate communications or similar discipline
  • Experience with executive communication support
  • Proven ability to lead and direct a high-performance team
  • Demonstrated initiative in identifying business communication needs, and proactively designed and executed strategies to address those needs
  • Demonstrated agency management experience
  • Flexibility and ability to multitask and manage multiple projects
