AvePoint's Finance team is seeking a motivated financial controller in Asian Pacific (APAC) region. The candidate for this position will be based in Singapore and report to the Global Controller. This highly visible role will play an instrumental role to support AvePoint's growth in the APAC at scale. The APAC controller will work closely with our Global Controller to implement financial process, reduce month end closing time, ensure timely and accurate management reporting and external financial reporting for our APAC entities, and build and grow teams. The ideal candidate must have strong experience promoting business partner relationships and develop close relationships with other cross functional teams (business strategy, sales, ACS, business intelligence, marketing, support, shared service center, etc.) and ensure that accounting is involved early in business strategy/initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead a team based in APAC region countries, including hiring, mentoring, motivating and providing clear direction on strategy, goals and development;
  • Manage general accounting function and month end closing to ensure that all accounts are accurately stated on a timely basis.
  • Responsible for providing management reporting of APAC operations and perform variance analysis of our full balance sheet and P&L to the senior leadership on a monthly basis;
  • Coordinate and assist with external financial reporting on a quarterly and annually basis;
  • Work with global controller and technical accounting managers in implementation of new accounting standards;
  • Perform ongoing assessment of our financial reporting controls and ensure that our controls are designed and operating effectively under Sarbanes-Oxley;
  • Serves as a liaison to support statutory audits and filing activities. Ensure compliance with local laws and guidelines;
  • Collaborate with Tax Team to provide accurate and timely reports for tax filings;
  • Participate accounting integrations for any M&A activities in APAC regions

  • A Bachelor or advance degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is required;
  • 8+ years of combined experience in both audit (preferable at a Big 4 accounting firm) and accounting;
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and thorough understanding of US GAAP and IFRS;
  • Knowledge and experience with SOX 404 procedures and controls;
  • Ability to implement technical accounting policies, and execute company policies that affect operations and potentially impact other functional groups;
  • Software and technology company experience a plus;
  • Prior experience of working in an international operation; Familiarity with local business environment in the APAC region;
  • Ability to succinctly communicate in writing, effectively interact with, and explain complex accounting issues in straightforward language to senior management in finance and the business;
  • Strong interpersonal skills; Possess a collaborative work ethic and style to interact with team members from diverse background;
  • Impeccable analytical and organizational skills;
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently but with the judgment to know when to seek guidance;
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines;
  • Ability to independently and simultaneously lead multiple projects
