Job Title: APAC Head of Corporate Strategy and M&A

The Corporate Strategy and M&A team is part of the DWS Chief Executive Office (CEO) and supports the management team, business units and regional divisions of DWS in setting and executing the strategic agenda for the business as well as overseeing and executing key transaction activity. The team has key responsibilities associated to Strategy, Business Development, Business Solutions and M&A which include working to develop successful strategies to achieve the goals, create long-term plans and review progress against our objectives, evaluate growth and business development opportunities and oversee all inorganic activity, including mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, strategic partnerships, and other key corporate activities.

As the Head of APAC Corporate Strategy and M&A, you will work closely with senior management from across all business areas of DWS and have overall responsibility for the Strategy, Business Development, Business Solutions and M&A activity across the region.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute on all corporate strategy activity for the region, working with the Global Head of Corporate Strategy and M&A, Regional Head of APAC, and the DWS management team
  • Work with the global M&A team on evaluating and assessing all inorganic activities in the region, including M&A, dispositions, and strategic partnerships
  • Develop and articulate the business case for internal and/or external investment decisions to create the strategic and financial rationale for prioritizing target investments
  • Develop and maintain active engagement with relevant market players across the region among banks, investors, and potential strategic partners to ensure full market visibility
  • Be the point person for our key strategic partner in China for matters relating to our shareholding and for preparation of Board meetings
  • Negotiate key agreements with external parties as it relates to inorganic activities in conjunction with other DWS stakeholders
  • Support on major initiatives (organic and inorganic) for the global business
Your skills & experience:
  • Extensive professional experience within Corporate Strategy, Strategy consulting, Investment Banking/M&A or related field aligned to Investment Management
  • Strong knowledge of Financial Services, and specifically Investment Management, representing a sound understanding of the changing strategic, regulatory and competitive environment and potential impacts on the industry
  • Highly driven and motivated individual with a provide ability to champion and execute initiatives.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills and ability to lead teams and manage/mentor junior team members.
  • Strong communication skills in English; strong preference for fluency in Mandarin
  • Undergraduate, Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree or MBA in a related finance or strategy discipline from an accredited college or university (or equivalent) or an acceptable level of industry experience
  • Quick comprehension, high solution competence and willingness to work closely on projects in order to drive implementation.
