Business Function Group Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.
Responsibilities As an CBGM SRE, you will collaborate and work closely with application SRE teams to implement monitoring set up for the C2E application and ensuring the monitoring system are working as expected.
Key Responsibilities:

• Implement, maintain, and consult on the observability and monitoring framework that supports the needs of multiple internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with operations & engineering teams, application developers, management and infrastructure teams to assess near- and long-term monitoring needs.
• Assist with driving monitoring and observability standards to improve the consumer experience of mission-critical applications, services, and business processes with a strong focus on the end-to-end journey.•Keep an eye on the emerging observability tools, trends and methodologies, and continuously enhance our existing systems and processes.
• Manage Elastic/Prometheus/Grafana to support custom metric delivery dashboards.
• Engineer solutions and establish standards for ELK functional components and specifically agent deployments, including optimizations and application tuning and instrumentation per requirements.
• Adopt ELK for usage on-premises with familiarity of Cloud IaaS and PaaS models.
• Seek opportunities through scripting automated deployments to reduce operational tasks.
• Effectively communicate tool capabilities and processes to varying stakeholders.
• Provide input on improving the global operating model for monitoring and observability service

Requirements

• Experience with Banking at least 5 years will be an added advantage.
• At least 5 years of working experience in J2EE Servers like Jboss, Tomcat and Apache.
• At least 5 years designing dynamic web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, and React JS.
• Experience with high availability, high-scale, and performance systems.
• Be a passionate advocate for SRE principles and practices at both a Chapter and BU level, by talking at meetups, sharing learnings, presenting to larger audiences and forums, or publishing technical blog posts.
• Establish metrics for data-driven decisions to help increase availability, reliability, and velocity.
• Possess In-depth understanding of application security and SSL certificates.
• Strong background in dealing with application development teams and principal vendors.
• Ability to work under pressure with demanding objectives/timelines.
• Experience working in Agile-based SDLC environment and participating in different Scrum sessions.
• Self-disciplined and motivated - Ability to work independently without much supervision.
• A pro-active ‘can-do’ attitude.
