Lionfish Studios is a game company that specializes in developing interactive solutions for businesses. We are seeking an Art Director to join our team and help us create engaging and visually stunning games and interactive experiences for our clients.
As an Art Director, you will lead a team of artists to develop the visual direction for our projects. You will work closely with our clients to understand their brand and design requirements, and translate those into compelling visual concepts that meet their needs. You will also collaborate with the other tech and design teams to come up with creative solutions.Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and present conceptual ideas from pitches through production.
- Gather reference material, create style guides, mood boards, and other documentation to support the visual direction and clearly communicate the art vision to the team and clients.
- Communicate and collaborate with our clients to understand their problems and design requirements, and explain technical concepts in an easy-to-understand way.
- Collaborate with Design, Tech, and Art teams to translate those problems into visual, creative, and interactive solutions that meet their needs.
- Learn and understand the Game and Animation production pipeline.
- Work with Design, Tech, and Art leads to manage and continuously improve documentation and pipeline processes of the Art team.
- Create and overall manage the art schedule and resource plans, ensuring that art is delivered on time and to quality.
- Work with the Art lead to ensure their team creates high-quality content in keeping with the project\'s visual direction by giving actionable, constructive feedback.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the Art team to ensure their growth.
- Delegate and assign work to Art team members, encouraging autonomy where possible.
- Develop and maintain a healthy creative team culture.
- Participate in the recruitment of project team members and conduct performance evaluations.
- Experience as an Art Director or Senior Artist in the creative industry.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of artists.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, developers, and other stakeholders.
- Expertise in conceptualization, illustration, and visual design principles.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as most of the Adobe Suite.
- Understanding of basic UI/UX and knowledge of tools such as Miro and Figma.
- Basic Animation principles.
- Familiarity with the game production process.
- Familiarity with marketing or corporate culture.
- Familiarity with management software such as ClickUp.
