Job Description


  • Consulting with clients to discuss their medical histories and identify the problems or conditions they wish to overcome.
  • Conducting art therapy sessions with clients using various types of visual art, including drawing, sculpting, painting, ceramics, and clay modeling.
  • Discussing clients artworks with them to evaluate the meaning and emotions behind the artworks.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare practitioners to develop or integrate personalized treatment plans.
  • Developing suitable art therapy programs for clients based on their needs, objectives, and preferred forms of artistic expression.
  • Teaching clients coping skills and strategies to enable them to deal with challenging and traumatic experiences.
  • Conducting group or family art therapy sessions as required.
  • Supervising art therapy students and interns.
  • Maintaining detailed records of patients\' progress as well as observations made during art therapy sessions.

Art Therapist Requirements:

  • Master\'s degree in art therapy or counseling with additional coursework in art therapy.
  • Certified by the art therapy credentials board or counselling board
  • Sound knowledge of visual art.
  • Excellent observational and counseling skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Patient, empathetic, and creative.
  • A passion for art
  • To therapeutically work with Adults, children and adolescents
  • Providing individual and family interventions using evidence based practice
  • Ability to work face-to-face and online
  • Liaising with other professionals e.g. psychiatrists, pediatricians doctors.
  • Providing talks, workshops and training
  • Working with corporate clients e.g. schools
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience of a variety of treatment modes
  • Previous experience working in private setting with local population and expats is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Additional experience training and confidence in working with self-harm, violence or suicidality is desirable.
  • Experience of working with complex cases risk, self-harm, suicidality, OCD, emerging personality disorders, dual diagnosis, interpersonal violence, historic substance misuse
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team e.g. shared cases
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, occasional home visit where necessary
  • Experience of implementing structured change models
  • Committed to attending regular supervision
  • Ability to work with autonomy and be a team player
  • Flexible working in a fast-paced environment that is growing
  • IT skills in Office Applications such as Word, Excel, use of Apps
As part of the work, you will be offered free monthly supervision by a senior clinician and will have support through weekly peer supervision. We also have monthly training sessions in the team and webinars. You will be joining a warm, open and caring team that are enthusiastic and committed to offering excellent service to our clients and support to our clinicians.
