Purpose of Role

This role is responsible for the daily operations and continuous improvement of Logistics and Operational processes to support the Commercial ambition, performing operational duties primarily, in Santen Asia\'s supply chain organization. A broad range of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment will include being the subject matter expert in international transportation (import & export regulations and cold chain management) and distribution within the pharmaceuticals business.

The individual must have a forward-thinking mindset; constantly working on logistics optimization both locally and globally and have the experience managing third-party logistics service providers (LSP). The position requires the ability to interact with internal and external partners at all levels, working with SCM, Regulatory, Quality, Finance, LSP, CMOs and distributors.



Core responsibilities

  • Coordinate/arrange shipments ex Manufacturing sites to the Asia region
  • Prepare shipping documents and communicate promptly to the consignees
  • Maintain cargo insurance & manage cargo claims
  • Manage non-conformance such as in-transit damages, quantity variances & temperature excursions
  • Develop transportation solutions for Temperature Controlled and Cold Chain shipments into Asia region
  • Improving the shipping processes and liaison with LSPs to ensure timely delivery of goods into the consignee\'s warehouse
  • Ensuring all logistic and distribution costs are recorded, tracked, and managed appropriately
  • Provide support to Finance, Quality & Regulatory for GDP audits
  • Participate in/Support annual cycle counts
  • Indirect logistics sourcing and procurements such as temperature monitoring device and passive packaging
Operations Excellence
  • Support the development and Implementation of KPIs with the LSPs and Distributors
  • Pro-active management of LSPs to embed a culture of continuous improvement to optimize logistics spending
Local Operations
  • Take ownership in managing Singapore\'s distribution operations and work closely with the local distributor to drive operational excellence
  • Support RDC administrative tasks
  • Manage and review Distributor KPIs on a monthly basis
  • Hold quarterly meetings with the Distributor, together with the local Sales Team, to review the operations and distribution performances.
  • Pro-active management of Trade Returns, Direct Returns from customers
  • Master data management - product code creation / deletion request in distributor system
  • Inventory management - have full visibility of stock movement and ensure FEFO is conformed
  • Administrator/Point of contact for all stock adjustment requests, such as marketing samples and stock destructions
  • Development and maintenance of local Logistic and Distribution policies
Others
  • Ensure compliance with Santen and in-market EHS and Quality regulations and guidelines
  • Participate in logistics projects
  • Maintain proper filings of shipping documents at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in a Supply Chain related discipline, Logistics, Operational Management
  • In-depth knowledge of Logistics & Distribution operations, preferably from the healthcare environment, with more than 5 years related experience.
  • Experience in operating within a GMP and GDP environment
  • Familiar with Incoterms and international Air and Sea shipping operations
  • Letter of Credit experience and familiarity with SAP will be an advantage
  • Must be comfortable dealing with shipping documents
  • Experience in managing third-party logistics service providers/vendors/distributors
  • Independent, pro-active and a strong team player
  • Self-driven with good time management skill
  • Able to travel when required
  • Meticulous and organized
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
