The Institute for Adult Learning\'s Specialist (Assessment) will work independently and is also required to display strong interpersonal and organizational skills in conducting quality reviews of training and assessments which comprise both classroom and online delivery methods adopted by a pool of adult learning practitioners proficient in training adult and education skills and knowledge.

As a specialist in assessments, you will be responsible for raising the standards of quality reviews for training and assessments by conducting programme audits and coaching workshops for IAL\'s internal and external stakeholders. The target outcome is detailed and quality programme audits, online and in-class observation reports evaluating IAL\'s adjunct adult educators\' (AEs) competence and performance in training delivery and their conduct of assessments. These will be reflected in AEs\' consistently high levels of proficiency in lesson delivery, active learning and learner engagement, management of learning climate and facilitation skills. You are also expected to have the competence in analyzing data generated from various assessment outcomes and audits, in order to provide useful feedback for programme improvements.

The role includes developing a programme with training, coaching and reflective elements to develop IAL\'s internal capabilities in the conduct of quality programme audits, writing of programme audit reports, and the enhancement of programme audit matrices for continuous improvement.

You will report to Head of Programme and Service Management on a 20-hour work week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct between 10-20 hours of assessment audits and/or online or classroom observations for IAL WSQ programmes each month.
  • Coach IAL staff in the conduct of programme audits for assessments, online or classroom observations and writing of programme audit reports by providing feedback, and monitoring of AE performance and learner feedback
  • Conduct 4 workshops a year for IAL AEs and IAL staff on assessment best practices as an aspiring TAE leader
  • Participate in meetings regarding external audits related to competency-based assessment
  • Liaise with AEs to arrange observation and post-observation sessions
  • Conduct or observe assessment audit follow-up sessions
Job Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification preferably in learning/training and development, with special training in assessments
  • Possess ACTA/ACLP/DACE or strong pedagogical knowledge/practice in Adult Education
  • At least 10 years of experience in training and development, preferably in Adult Education
  • Meticulous and consistent in handling work tasks
  • Expert knowledge and skills in the area of competency-based and outcome-based assessments
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
  • High learning agility, be able to work under time pressure and be highly adaptable to thrive in a fast-paced, fast-changing environment
  • Be able to handle the work demands and deliver high-quality work within the given timelines
  • An entrepreneurial spirit to do things better, be open to possibilities and be able to navigate technical and organisational roadblocks that can emerge
The successful appointee will be based in IAL Campus located at Lifelong Learning Institute next to Paya Lebar MRT station
