In association with the creation of a new group in Geometry, Dynamics, and Learning at the Division of Mathematical Sciences we have an opening at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. We envision to foster the development of new methods coming from Geometry, Topology, Dynamical Systems, and Stochastics for the solution of problems in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Mechanical Control, Shape Analysis, and Robotics. More generally, we are interested in hiring new colleagues bringing expertise in computational statistics, mathematical modelling, and numerical integration using geometric and variational approaches. NTU provides a rich environment for interdisciplinary collaborations in these areas, including the Robotics Research Centre, the Division of Physics and Applied Physics, the Asian School of the Environment, and the Computational Intelligence research lab at the School of Computer Science and Engineering. Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or closely related fields. Areas and priorities that we wish to develop and support through this appointment include:
