What the role is:You will lead and undertake CLC\'s futures and cities-oriented knowledge work in the built environment in one or more of the following policy research domains: 1. The needs of future communities - what constitutes quality of life in a dense urban setting, and how these might be impacted by future live-work-play patterns, and changing social dynamics between different communities or segments of society 2. Environmental stewardship - decarbonisation and net-zero/net-positive transitions, ecological planning, resource circularity, climate change adaptation and mitigation in cities 3. Urban resilience - Urban governance and systems, urban design, districts, infrastructure planning and development 4. Science of cities enablers - to support our research pillars, through the application of relevant approaches/methods such as social and behavioural sciences and foresight.What you will be working on:You will help to drive CLC\'s knowledge work in policy research under the themes of Environmental Stewardship and Urban Resilience. Key projects include research and investigation into future communities and social dynamics, models for decarbonisation, and charting pathways of transition from net-zero carbon towards regenerative city concepts. You are required to demonstrate the ability to take on a systems-level perspective towards long-term developmental plans, resource management policies, human health & well-being to deliver both environmental and social/community impact. You will be able to tap into CLC\'s international network of local and overseas experts to engage and partner a diverse spectrum of public and private sector stakeholders to effect paradigm shifts and policy transformation. In your work, you will be expected to synthesise information and analyse data independently or as a team, convene thought leadership sessions with experts and commission more complex research to be done by universities and research institutes. As part of conducting these applied research projects, you will also have the opportunity to curate and develop your research output into value-added knowledge products (e.g. publications, think-pieces) to foster thought-leadership and to present at CLC capability development programmes to train both local and overseas urban leaders.What we are looking for:
