Job Description

:

  • Support the Senior Director of Academic Services and Operations to coordinate projects or programmes relating to the integration of the Academic Services and Operations group.
  • Lead on student-related administrative policies such as fees policies, financial assistance policies, management of overstaying students, and student data governance.
  • Coordinate with the Provost's Office Education team, and relevant schools/offices to facilitate annual financial budgeting and planning related to undergraduate and postgraduate students including tuition fees, miscellaneous and annual fees proposals; review and draft policies on tuition fee subsidies and fee policies such as single-course billing and summer course billing; financial assistance schemes and intake targets.
  • Drive the delivery, review, development, and integration of academic services to enhance undergraduate and postgraduate student experience, for example, in areas such as timetabling, course enrolment and bidding, Leave of Absence, graduation and commencement etc.
  • Collaborate with relevant offices to propose policies and guidelines on operational teaching-related matters, such as safety during instruction, and management of student study spaces.
  • Coordinate the collection of data and draft regular reports for the Ministry of Education, Board of Trustees, and other internal and external stakeholders as required for matters related to academic services.
  • Provide regular reports to the Provost's Council (PVC) on specific university KPIs, including those related to employability, graduation outcomes such as degree award and global exposure.
  • Contribute to the review, evaluation, and improvement of UG and PG student activities under the remit of offices reporting to the Senior Director of Academic Services and Operations.
  • Interface with the Ministry of Education and/or other agencies on matters relating to academic services, such as tuition fees and financial assistance.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree.
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Prior project or programme management experience.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changes, continuously learn, and be able to work as a team or independently.
  • Prior experience of supervising or coordinating staff will be an advantage.
  • Prior experience in a similar role in a higher education or policy/governance setting will be an advantage.

Candidates who do not possess the stipulated qualifications but have relevant work experience may still apply. Remuneration and appointment terms shall commensurate with qualifications and experience. SMU reserves the right to modify the appointment terms where necessary.
