RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drives Sustainable Procurement Initiatives University wide
• Communication and Collaboration with stakeholders, colleagues on Sustainable Procurement initiatives
• In depth management of vendors’ sustainability initiatives and ensuring direction is aligned with SMU’s
• Risk Management with regards to Sustainable Procurement
• Category Management for selected category areas
• In-depth knowledge of category areas and supply base
• Work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to define action plans for improvement and optimization
• Drive cost down and devise negotiation plans
• Supplier Relationship Management
• Contract Management
• Track performance of suppliers and category areas, including corrective actions where necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree holder
• At least 11 years work experience in sourcing and category management in Indirect/Services Procurement
• Experience in sustainable procurement is preferred
• Sustainable Procurement knowledge
• Supply Base knowledge in assigned categories
• Tech knowledge in assigned categories
• Experienced in Category Management in Indirect Procurement & Services or IT
• Ability to devise Commodity Strategy based on Stakeholder Requirements and Category’s attributes/supply base
• Supplier Relationship Management Skills
• Negotiation Skills
• Ability to understand, engage and influence stakeholders on requirements of assigned categories
• Provide market input and supply roadmaps into decision making process
• Drives changes to requirements and engage suppliers to supply SMU’s needs at optimal cost, quality and speed
