You will be a part of HPB\xe2\x80\x99s School Health & Outreach Division, Education Institutions Department, which strives to advance health promotion efforts in the school setting to reduce Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s burden of diseases.

  • As a key member of the School Health & Outreach Division, Education Institutions Department , you will:
  • Lead a team of Health Promotion Managers in the co-creation of Healthy Ecosystems in the school settings (i.e. preschools, mainstream schools and institutes of higher learning) with other governmental agencies, school and community partners, healthcare partners and non-profit organisations.
  • Lead a team of HPB staff and/or lead/partner a matrix team from various other divisions to plan, implement and review health prevention and/or interventive programmes, projects and activities focusing on school outreach in key health areas including nutrition, physical activity, mental health and sleep, screen time use and nicotine-use.
  • Support the Board\xe2\x80\x99s vision to nurture healthy habits in our young by seeking and analysing ground insights, innovating, and making continuous improvements in programme implementation and outreach strategy to address emerging health issues/trends.
  • Guide the team to build relevant and meaningful statistical knowledge, identify trends, needs and gaps, use ground insights to inform and influence HPB programme teams to deliver attractive value propositions for key partners and schools.
  • Manage procurement where required for programmes and resources developed and implemented, and monitor the department/team\xe2\x80\x99s operating budget and indicators to ensure and steward efficient use of public funds and be accountable for the systems and processes efficiency to achieve HPB\xe2\x80\x99s goals.
What an ideal candidate looks like An ideal candidate will be a dynamic, results driven, self-motivated and people-oriented individual with at least 8 years of relevant working experience in public health outreach, programme development, strategic planning, partnership, project and account management (preferably at a middle management level), and possesses, and 4 years leading a team preferably in health-related field. The candidate should possess;
  • A proven track record in successfully developing, implementing and executing partnership initiatives, with an understanding of the underlying economics of achieving win-win resolutions or agreements
  • Strong leadership qualities and people management skills
  • Ability to present complex concepts in a clear and relevant manner to the target audience.
  • Effective communication (verbal & written), presentation and negotiation skills
  • Strong planning, analytical, business development and project management skills
  • Strategic and critical thinking
  • Strong collaborative and partnership building skills
  • Prior experience in managing portfolios within the public sector, and data analytics will be an advantage
  • Prior experience in risk and operations management as well as skills and knowledge in lean management will be an advantage
The individual should also be able to;
  • Adapt and independently navigate through new situations and challenges
  • Be confident in working with school and public/community partners
  • Multi-task, handle stressful situations and tight deadlines;
  • Motivate and guide your team and demonstrate strong team work; and
  • Work well in matrix and highly dynamic teams
