What you will be working on
Job Responsibilities:
Officer will report to Deputy Director/CED and be responsible for the tasks below:
• Develop and execute effective communications plans that highlight MCI’s key communications themes
• Manage day-to-day media requests
• Develop media materials including press releases, talking points and social media posts
• Staffing Political Office Holders for media events, including preparatory work in lead up to events and onsite/virtual staffing for events to ensure good media coverage
• Establish good media relationships with key media contacts and identify opportunities to proactively pitch stories
• Evaluate the effectiveness of media plans
• Gather, review and analyse relevant reports
What we are looking for
Job Requirements:
- Excellent grasp of issues and policies
- Strong knowledge of current affairs
- Keen awareness of political sensitivities
- Strong analytical ability
- Good editing/writing and communication skills
- Good knowledge of marketing and best practices
- Good organisation skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure
- Strong project management skills
