Job Description


What the role is:As a member of the MSE finance team, you will be involved in the management of the ministry's financial resources, supporting the implementation of the ministry's strategic objectives through finance. You will be formulating, reviewing and operationalizing finance policies, procedures and controls relating to assets management.What you will be working on:Your work will cover the following areas: i. Being the point-of-contact to advise MSE-HQ divisions and MSE Statutory Boards on fixed asset matters. ii. Ensuring the proper accounting of fixed assets and development projects-in-progress including those managed by MSE's Statutory Boards on behalf of MSE. iii. Formulating accounting guidelines for MSE's fixed assets in consultation with stakeholders. iv. Preparing annual fixed assets schedule and work with appointed auditors to audit schedule. v. Overseeing the annual fixed assets stocktake exercise. vi. Managing State Land and Government Buildings including tenancies and public queries relating to these. vii. Using business intelligence system to enhance reporting and operations of fixed assets. viii. Driving transformation with stakeholders with an aim to streamline and digitalise processes. ix. Ad hoc projects may be assigned from time to time.What we are looking for:a. A degree in Accountancy, Business Administration, Finance or equivalent. b. Preferably three to five years of relevant experience. c. Good working knowledge and understanding of risk assessment, internal controls d. Independent, motivated and enthusiastic to learn e. Candidate to have good analytical and writing skills, be meticulous organised and have good interpersonal and communication skills. f. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Experience in data analytics and RPA software will be an added advantage. g.
