Assistant Engineer, Depot Maintenance (CHD)








Job Purpose


  • To assist Premise Manager/Assistant Premise Manager in performing preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and periodic inspections to Depot infrastructures to ensure depot infrastructure in a functional, safe, and reliable state for the users at all times.
  • Work activities include periodic inspection and rectification works on routine maintenance items such repair M&E work, structural water leakage, cracks, spalling concrete, repair door, lockset etc\xe2\x80\xa6





Responsibilities



1. To lead the team to perform preventive and corrective maintenance works in accordance with the relevant Work Instruction, Quality Procedures, Specifications & Standards, Work Safety requirements, Maintenance Manual, Circular and Railway Operation procedures.
2. To raise work order, plan and supervise Contractor rectification of defects works in accordance with the relevant Quality Procedures, Specifications & Standards, Risk Assessment, Method Statement, Work Safety Manual and Railway Operation Procedures.
3. To cover the role of SPIC, PIC and PM duties and responsibilities when required.
4. To account for the safety, welfare, attendance, training, disciplinary matters, etcetera of the direct workforce under his charge.
5. To prepare weekly work schedules and submit inspection records as per contract specifications.
6. To perform daily functions such as Key-in daily work into SAP /Maximo/DMS entries for capturing of maintenance orders, applying PTW and preparing work attendance record.
7. To investigate on incident and follow-up actions on the recommendation to prevent recurrence pertaining to Depot Operations.
8. To attend various faults & feedbacks and resolve within the reasonable time pertaining to Depot Operations.
9. To attend inspection for taking over of new areas in Tunnels that are upgraded by LTA or adjacent developer. This shall include various assets such as hand tools, equipment and building related items. (Applicable only to Depot with tunnel)
10. To assist Premise Manager/Assistant Premise Manager in budget planning annually and to track all records of purchase based on the cost centre allocated.
11. To assist Premise manager/Assistant Premise manager in preparation of specification for calling quotations & tenders for repair and replacement works.
12. To monitor the work of the term contractor, check and certify upon the work done.
13. To ensure compliance by the term contractor for given risk assessments documents, method of statements & valid tradesmen\xe2\x80\x99s certificate prior to the commencement of stated work.
14. To assist the appointed FSM for duties that he assigns such as preparation of tabletop exercises, fire drill, training and etc.
15. To be physically hands-on for minor repair work and logistical work where necessary.
16. To be on the lookout for improvement work at Depot as part of Kaizen & Safety initiative.
17. May need to perform minimal weekend or night duties for special projects.
18. Any other duties assigned by Head Depot and Premise Manager.


Qualifications & Work Experience



Qualifications
Diploma in Civil/Structural/Building/Facilities Engineering/Management.
At least a class 3 driving license.


Work Experience
  • Prefer at least 7 years of working experience in railway infrastructure maintenance and conversant with local building regulations.
  • Related least 7 years of working experience in building/structure/civil maintenance works Knowledge of contract.
  • Experience in administration (IT/MMS/Maximo/data entry etc.) and manage staffs & contract workers.
