Job Description

Job Purpose

The Assistant Engineer is responsible to lead a team of Technical Officers to perform Preventive / Corrective and Overhaul Maintenance of trains/locomotives, track infrastructure, signaling and communications, or power equipment. He is also to lead the team in performing fault attendance, fault diagnosis tests, troubleshooting, repairs and modifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan team duty rosters in consultation with the Engineering Maintenance Manager.
• Disseminate any instructions and procedures issued by supervisors to the team members.
• Perform all necessary maintenance administration and documentation. (E.g. Record faults reported, raise maintenance work orders, complete work orders in maintenance management system and any other recording system.)
• Plan, supervise and lead a team of Technical Officers to perform Preventive/ Corrective Maintenance on trains/locomotive, track infrastructure, facilities, signaling/communications and power equipment.
• Perform ground shunter duty, as assigned by supervisors.
• Operate ground support equipment and tools safely in accordance with general handling practices, as assigned by supervisors.
• Drive train or locomotives or Road-Rail-Vehicles within depot sidings, test track and maintenance tracks, as assigned by supervisors.
• Any other ah-hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Work Experience

• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• Fresh graduates welcome to apply.
• Work in rotating or fixed shifts (in accordance with MOM guidelines), as assigned by supervisors.
