The Connectivity, Trade and Logistics (CTL) cluster in A*STAR oversees the plans, coordination and implementation of public sector research strategies and initiatives to create impact in the trade and logistics sector as well as connectivity clusters comprising land transport, aviation, maritime and marine & offshore (M&O). The CTL cluster is also responsible to drive Innovation & Enterprise (I&E) activities for these sectors within A*STAR, focused on developing research and innovation partnerships between industry and the Singapore research community, mangaging and commercialising A*STAR?s IP and technology portfolio, and encouraging spin-offs.

The Assistant Head in the CTL Cluster will support these efforts in the domain of aerospace and aviation through the following:

Collaboration with relevant ministries and public agencies, industry partners and public sector research performers to identify emerging trends and research opportunities that contribute to sectoral transformation programmes and national interests.

• Leverage strong domain and industry knowledge to understand the industry?s aspirations and challenges and thereby design and execute differentiated strategies to shape the R&D for the sectors.
• Build trusted relationships with C-suite/management executives across the industry.
• Engage with companies to understand their businesses ? product/service offerings, technology needs, business strategy and R&D roadmap.
• Structure deals and facilitate partnerships between companies and researchers/research units, to bring in new investments, products, and jobs to Singapore\'s economy.
• Management of ongoing programmes together with research teams to ensure milestones, deliverables, budget utilisation and performance targets are met on time.
• Assess and manage A*STAR?s technology disclosures and IP portfolio in this space.
• Manage licensing and commercialization efforts in this space.

Job Requirements

Good track record or prior experience in business development, engineering, research and/or project management
Familiarity with the Singapore aerospace and aviation sector is required
Experience in research and technology translation and commercialisation will be an advantage.
Familiarity with the Singapore research ecosystem and RIE strategies will be an advantage
Passion in shaping research in a broad range of technology areas
Experience in engaging multiple stakeholders through outcome-driven discussions
Outstanding writing and presentation abilities
Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in engineering
