*Role reports to the Production Manager**Supervises the Senior Engineers, Engineers, Foremen and Workers*TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Effective delegation and control of resources for optimum productivity.
Read and understand technical specifications, prepare job-list, plan material take-off and manpower planning of yard men and contractor for each given job. Trigger early warning to commercial and production manager for potential technical or manpower challenges for all repair or project works.
Review and approval of the material required as per material take-off and coordinate with the Purchase department for timely delivery of materials.
Prepare forecast for manpower loading and materials arrival, including all facilities.
Work closely with the Project Manager, Commercial, Subcontracting and other departments on appropriate procedure and schedule for job completion.
Represent the department in daily production, operation and management meetings.
Attend periodical meetings with client to discuss on engineering clarification and technical queries.
Ensure adherence of safety, discipline, identification of training needs and welfare for all subordinates.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, company, quality, environment, occupational health and safety, quality, environment and productivity.
Ensure company and project milestones and commercial controls are achieved by effective planning, logistics and execution.
Ensure optimum work process and equipment\'s utilization, generate, control and monitor department budgets.
Responsible for minimum wastage of materials and balance materials to be accounted and returned to store at the end of the project.
Prepare and review department documents (RA, SOP, Internal & External Auditing, ORs).
REQUIREMENTS
Possess an engineering degree - preferably in electrical engineering.
At least 8 years of experience in the marine industry.
Able to read and interpret project specification and technical drawings.
Good understanding in electrical specification and control circuit.
Experience in working on new-building, conversion and repair of vessels.
Understand the principles of main and emergency switchboard, inclusive of protection devices, switch gears, synchronization and load sharing.
Take ownership of jobs, good team player with pro-active approach.
