Engineering Environmental Sustainability

As CAG embarks on its decarbonisation journey towards Net Zero, work scope of Engineering Sustainability has expanded significantly beyond its traditional roles of (1) procuring \'brown\' electricity and (2) annual reporting of resource consumption to authorities to cover the following:

• Contracting for large-scale deployment of solar panels across our rooftops and airfield areas, where the latter require engineering innovation and strategic thinking to crack its full solar potential;
• Strategic procurement of offsite renewable energy and associated certificates;
• Operationalise new environmental policies introduced at the corporate level e.g. Green Procurement Policy and Internal Carbon Pricing within the Engineering cluster which involves developing internal guidance and framework as well as training engineering colleagues.
• Study \'Smart Grid\' solutions to future-proof our micro-grid to cope with intermittent solar energy supply and demand spikes from EV charging.
• Interface with Changi East team to incorporate experiences on engineering sustainability such as solar deployment, resource monitoring & metering systems and Smart Grid solutions.

Engineering Future Excellence portfolio to map out the operating model of E&D Cluster post-T5 will involve:

• Stock-taking of existing and planned work loads, manpower and modus operandi,
• Explore potential future ways of working for the engineering function
• Studying potential productivity gains through re-thinking of the engineering function and solutions such as sensorisation, digitalisation, smart data analytics, automation, and
• Developing strategies that lead to optimised manpower resources.

Requirements:

• Good Degree in Engineering, preferably in the electrical or sustainability field. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Strong critical think and analytical skills
• Good writing, storyboarding and presentation abilities
• Good communication skills to engage and interact effectively with all stakeholders within and outside the organisation
• Strong planning, organizational and prioritization skills, able to manage/execute multiple projects concurrently with minimum supervision; prior relevant experience in both private and public sector stakeholder engagement will be advantageous
• Strong interest for environmental sustainability and carbon mitigation
• Possess a self-motivated and positive attitude, excellent work ethic and is a team player
